The Ring Was Not For Me Chapter 06

Sarah’s face went pale. 1

“Didn’t I call for Tiffany’s creditors?”

“Aren’t you here to collect her debt?!”

I was a bit dazed when I saw Julian’s text.

How did he know I was here?

But Sarah’s reaction told me everything. The realization hit me. She’d sent my location to the number that had been calling me for a month, assuming it belonged to my creditors.

“You were looking for me over a month ago?”

Julian nodded. “The graduation ceremony was important. I promised Mr. and Mrs. Ainsworth I would be there, but you didn’t answer my calls.”

I suddenly remembered someone had been calling me persistently over a month ago.

I had dismissed the persistent calls as spam and ignored them.

I never thought it would be Julian.

“I’ll take you to the hospital first. That wound needs to be treated.”

Julian swept me up into his arms.

Ricardo rushed over to block him, but he couldn’t find an excuse.

Just then, chaos erupted behind us. Dylan had accidentally eaten peanut butter from the cake and was having a severe allergic reaction.

Sarah was sobbing uncontrollably.

“Ricardo, call an ambulance! If anything happens to Dylan, I don’t want to live anymore.”

I covered my ears.

Julian seemed to understand what was happening and quickly led me away.

Ricardo’s stare grew more and more intense.

Downstairs, I saw a private ambulance was waiting.

Seeing the question in my eyes,

Julian explained, “I heard you were hurt, so I called it in advance.”

An awkward silence settled between us.

I had only chatted with Julian online a few times, having added him mainly to

appease my parents.

But his every action

felt like he knew me well, which left me at a loss.

Just as Julian was about to lift me into the ambulance, he was suddenly yanked from behind.

Mrs. Miller shrieked,

“Our Dylan is having an allergic reaction that could be fatal! Why should you get the ambulance first! Get out, let our Dylan go first!”

Ricardo followed close behind, his voice trembling with urgency.

“Mr. Blackwood, my son is allergic and can’t breathe. Every minute is critical. I’m begging you, please have mercy and let us go first!”

Julian didn’t budge an inch. “I called this ambulance. It has nothing to do with you. If you need a vehicle, call one yourself.”

Hearing this, Mrs. Miller collapsed to the ground and started wailing,

slapping her thighs.

“Oh, my, look at this big shot! So bossy, stealing an ambulance! If our Dylan dies, I’ll take it out on you!”

Seeing me in Julian’s arms, Ricardo’s chest swelled with a strange anger, and he yelled at me,

“Tiffany, Dylan is my son! Are you really just going to stand by and watch him die? I thought you were kind!”

The wound on my forehead was still throbbing, but seeing Dylan’s purplish lips, I couldn’t bear it.

I turned my head to Julian and said, “My cut can wait. Let them go first.”

“It’s not for them. It’s for the child.”

Seeing Julian nod, Ricardo immediately rushed over, picked up the rash-covered, gasping Dylan, and put him in the ambulance.

Before getting in, he turned and shot me a look of pure venom, as if I were the one who had wronged him.

Just as the door slid shut, I noticed something smeared on Sarah’s fingers.

Peanut butter.

A chill ran through me.

“I never wanted to compete with her. Why would she go as far as to harm her own child?”

Julian shook his head, whispering in my ear with a mysterious smile.

“Feel like watching a show?”

“I found some things out.”

I looked at him, confused. “Aren’t we going to register our marriage?”

The words had barely left my mouth when a blush crept up my ears.

A soft chuckle came from beside me.

“Tiffany, you’re that eager to marry me?”

I bit my lip, too embarrassed to say another word.

Julian sighed.

“Marriage is forever, Tiffany. I won’t let you marry me with any regrets. We’ll

go when your head is clear and your wound has healed.”

“For now, I’m taking you to see a good show.”

Before I could react, Julian had placed me in the passenger seat.

On the way, my phone buzzed with messages from Ricardo.

All accusations.

Tiffany, how do you know Julian so well?

Was Sarah right? Are you just some shameless liar who pretends to be rich to hook a guy?

Say something!

Reading these messages gave me a headache. I simply blocked him.

When we arrived at the hospital,

I heard Ricardo’s furious voice

and Sarah’s crying.

“We’re both type A! How the hell is Dylan type B!”

“Is he even my son!”
