Sarah immediately stopped crying, her eyes frantic. 1

“It’s a mistake! The hospital screwed up the test! Dylan is your son, Ricardo, they must have mixed up the samples!”

Mrs. Miller chimed in, grabbing Ricardo’s arm to persuade him.

“That’s right, that’s right. I was with Sarah right after she gave birth. The baby was type A. The hospital must have made a mistake. Don’t overthink it, you’ll scare the child!”

Ricardo shook off Mrs. Miller’s hand, his eyes red as he glared at Sarah.

“A mistake? The hospital can make a mistake with a blood type? Sarah, you better explain yourself today. Whose child is Dylan!”

Sarah hadn’t expected Ricardo to be so hard to fool today.

Her only hope was Mrs. Miller.

“Mom, you have to believe me. That bitch Tiffany has him under her spell! He’s turning his back on his own son!”

Mrs. Miller immediately directed her anger at me.

Turning her head, she saw me at the door and charged, only to be blocked by Julian’s bodyguards.

She pointed at me and cursed,

“Tiffany, it must be you! It’s all your fault, you whore! You’re just unhappy that our Ricardo is getting married, so you deliberately bribed the hospital to forge the results and ruin our family, didn’t you!”

“What terrible luck did the Miller family have to get stuck with a

troublemaker like you!”

Ricardo was already fuming, and seeing his mother embarrass herself in front

of Julian,

and then seeing me being held by Julian,

all his anger boiled over. He grabbed Mrs. Miller and pulled her up.

“What does Tiffany have to do with this?! The only one to blame is Sarah for lying to me all this time! Stop making things up!”

Sarah’s sobs and Mrs. Miller’s wails intertwined.

Ricardo rubbed his temples. “Stop crying. I’ll have the doctor test again!”

Sarah’s tears immediately started falling again, and she sobbed uncontrollably.

“Ricardo, you just can’t forget Tiffany, can you?”

“You’re worried someone else will take her, so now you think I’m worthless, you don’t even want our child anymore, is that it?”

“Since you don’t believe me, I’ll just take Dylan and leave. I won’t be an eyesore for you two!”

She moved to pick up Dylan from the hospital bed, but Ricardo wasn’t about to let her go. He grabbed her arm and, with a sharp smack, slapped her hard across the face.

The slap was so forceful that Sarah stumbled against the wall, blood seeping from the corner of her mouth.

“Leave? Where do you think you’re going? Explain yourself before you go!”

Ricardo panted, “I’m telling you, Sarah, we’re doing this blood test today, and I’m going to get a paternity test too! If you have a clear conscience, what are you afraid of!”

Sarah clutched her face in disbelief, then, after a moment of shock, she lunged at Ricardo, scratching him like a madwoman. “Ricardo, you hit me? I gave you a son, and you hit me!”

“What nonsense are you spouting!” Ricardo shoved her away and yelled for a doctor. “Doctor! Get in here and draw their blood again. I want another test! No one is leaving until I get those results!”

The commotion drew the attention of the on-duty doctors. Hearing his call, a doctor had no choice but to come in, re-draw blood from both Ricardo and Dylan, and send it for an emergency test.

During the tense ten-minute wait, Sarah sobbed, and Mrs. Miller sighed heavily.

Ricardo stood there silently, his fingers cracking as he clenched his fists, his

forehead beaded with cold sweat.

He kept glancing my way, but Julian blocked his line of sight every time.

A nurse was treating my wound.

Soon, the lab doctor walked over with the report.

The doctor’s voice was exceptionally clear in the hallway.

“Dylan’s blood type is B. Mr. Ricardo’s is A. It is biologically impossible for Dylan to be his son.”
