The Alpha Written in Her Diary Chapter 05

The Alpha Written in Her Diary Chapter 05

I accept Noah’s invitation to his eighteenth birthday party and arrive at the Fullmoon Pack packhouse at the agreed time.

The celebration is lavish.

Every Alpha, Luna, and their heirs from the major packs in Rosewick are invited, along with nearly the entire student body.

“Happy birthday.”

I hand him the gift I have prepared.

It’s a luxury watch worth eight figures. One that’s nearly impossible to buy, even with money. Even Noah’s Alpha father would have trouble getting one.

The room falls silent for a brief moment. Then whispers of envy ripple through the crowd.

“Thank you, Hayley. I love it.”

Noah’s Adam’s apple bobs as he struggles to hide his excitement.

“You’re welcome.”

I wave a hand dismissively.

He prides himself on his wealth and status. So I’ll show him what true privilege looks like.

But if I want the prey to walk willingly into the trap, I have to give him just enough of a sense of crisis.

I walk over to Chris, who is standing quietly in the corner, and hand him an identical gift box.

“This is my way of thanking you for lending me your jacket.”

Inside is another luxury watch. It’s even rarer and more valuable than the one I gave Noah.

Chris looks up at me, completely stunned. His eyes are filled with disbelief and confusion.

Not far away, the smile has yet to fade from Noah’s face.

But a layer of frost has already settled in his eyes.

I pretend not to notice.

As I brush past him, I simply say, “I have something else to do. I’m leaving now.”

Moments later, Noah catches up to me and stops me beside my car.

His expression softens, “Hayley.”

“Meet me at Neon Dusk tomorrow night. I have something important to tell you.”

The evening breeze brushes across my face, carrying a hint of coolness.

“Okay, I’ll see you there.”

The hem of my dress sways gently as I smile brightly.

It’s finally here. The last page of my sister’s diary.

[Noah asked me to meet him at Neon Dusk tonight. I don’t know why, but I’m so nervous.

Tomorrow is also the day I’ll receive my wolf.

Moon Goddess, please let Noah become my mate.

Please…

Thankfully, Hayley bought me a beautiful new dress yesterday.

I hope Noah likes it.]

With my sister’s words still echoing in my mind, I open my wardrobe and stare at the clothes inside. Which dress should I wear tomorrow?

Neon Dusk is the most luxurious and exclusive private club in Rosewick. It also belongs to the Fullmoon Pack.

I walk toward the private room at the very end of the hallway, the one Noah told me to meet him in.

Just as I take my first step, my wolf, Rue, suddenly becomes restless.

“I sense something.”

“What is it?” I ask.

Then an incredible scent reaches me. It’s the most intoxicating fragrance I have ever smelled.

“Our mate is nearby. We’re about to find our mate!”

Drawn by the rich scent of vanilla, I walk past the room next door.

“Could our mate be in there?” I whisper to Rue.

Just then, a familiar voice drifts through the half-open door.

“I honestly didn’t expect Hayley Snyder to be even easier to fool than Vicky Gallant.”

He chuckles.

“This watch alone is worth enough to buy every guy in this room a new supercar.”

The room erupts with laughter, mixed with the sharp clink of glasses.

Another slick, mocking voice joins in, “You’ve really got skills, Chris.”

“I’d say Hayley’s even prettier than Vicky. And she’s got a much better figure. She’s a 10.”

“So when are you finally going to make her yours?”

“Shut up.”

Chris lowers his voice, but every word remains perfectly clear.

“Never EVER mention Vicky Gallant again.”
