The Alpha Written in Her Diary Chapter 01

The Alpha Written in Her Diary Chapter 01

The day my younger sister got her wolf and was accepted into the Royal Warrior Program, I secretly gave her a new dress.

Her eyes sparkled as she slipped it on. “Sis, once I go to Lunaris for the program, I’ll finally get to see you.”

The next day, she wore that same dress and jumped from the rooftop of her school.

My father went to the school to demand an explanation, but before he even reached the entrance, he was hit by a car and left in a permanent vegetative state.

A month later, I transferred to the school.

Wolves from several neighboring packs all attend this academy, making it a school shared by multiple packs. But the Full Moon Pack rules over it, and its Alpha and heir are notorious for their cruelty and blood-soaked reputation.

Still, I cross the threshold of the academy without looking back.

The entire campus erupted with excitement.

Everyone was saying the new girl was even more breathtaking than the campus darling who had died.

“Hey, new girl. I’m Noah Dillon, the future Alpha of the Fullmoon Pack. What’s your name?”

A tall boy stepped in front of the classroom door, blocking my way. Surprise and admiration flashed across his eyes.

I looked at the name that appeared over and over again in my sister’s diary and smiled.

“Hayley Snyder.”

For a moment, Noah seemed dazed by my smile. His thoughtful gaze lingered on me for a few seconds before he stepped aside to let me pass.

His friends immediately started whispering.

“The new girl’s so gorgeous she even stunned Alpha.”

“She’s from another pack. Mr. Martin probably recruited another nerd with top grades just to boost the school’s reputation. Alpha’s got himself a new toy.”

“But she’s even prettier than Vicky…”

One of the boys quickly elbowed him, “Don’t say that name. Bad luck.”

The speaker immediately fell silent.

Holding my books, I walked straight toward the only empty seat in the classroom.

The short-haired girl sitting beside it visibly stiffened.

“Hi. I’m Hayley Snyder.”

“H… Hi. I’m Amanda,” she replied softly.

I knew who she was.

She had been Vicky’s best friend.

As soon as Amanda finished speaking, she hurriedly buried her face behind her book.

Sensing something, I looked up.

Emily Stewart, the daughter of the Alpha of the Nighthowl Pack, was walking toward me with several girls following behind her.

My eyes settled on her fingers. Those hands appeared frequently in my sister’s diary.

[Emily cornered me in the restroom and warned me to stay away from Noah.]

[She had people pin me down while she slapped me over and over. Her nails cut my face. It hurt so much.]

I wondered if the sound of those delicate fingers snapping would be crisp enough.

Emily stopped in front of my desk and raised a brow, “Hey, do you know who used to sit here?”

I shook my head.

“A girl named Vicky Gallant. She had great grades, was beautiful, and ranked among the strongest fighters. Too bad she jumped off the roof and killed herself last month.”

She leaned close until her lips were near my ear, her voice soft and slithering like a snake.

“Maybe this seat is cursed. You’d better be careful.”

I turned to meet her eyes.

“Shouldn’t the ones who need to be careful be the people hiding guilty consciences?”

Emily’s expression darkened.

Before she could answer, she let out a muffled grunt as a book flew from behind and struck her in the back.

“Emily, she’s new here. Leave her alone.”

Noah spoke lazily.

He pushed away the girl sitting on his lap, who had been shoving down her tongue down his throat just moments earlier.

Emily picked up the book and handed it back to him, her tone instantly turning gentle.

“I was only saying hello.”

“You’d better be.”

Noah gave me a casual glance before pulling the girl back into his arms and resuming their make-out session.

Emily shot me a furious glare before storming away.

When the teacher announced that I had transferred in with outstanding academic results, murmurs immediately spread through the classroom.

“Great, another grade-grinder.”

“Looks like she’s taking over Vicky Gallant’s scholarship.”

At this school, outstanding grades were simply proof that you came from a poor family.

Amanda quietly scribbled on a piece of paper.

After a long moment, she slid it over to me.

[If you want to survive here, don’t fall for Alpha Noah.]

[Vicky was a good girl. You don’t have to be afraid of sitting here.]

Without changing my expression, I wrote back: [Don’t worry.]

Vicky wasn’t just a good girl.

She was my little sister, someone I had protected since childhood, keeping her innocent and kind.

That was why, after Noah casually saved her once while Emily was tormenting her, she mistook him for the light in her darkest days.

She became convinced he was her fated mate.

She completely forgot that it was because of Noah Dillon that she had fallen into that nightmare in the first place.
