The Alpha Written in Her Diary Chapter 04

The Alpha Written in Her Diary Chapter 04

“I’m sorry, Hayley. I crossed the line yesterday.”

Noah takes the seat in front of me and places an expensive gift box on my desk.

I use my pen to push it aside, then look him straight in the eyes.

“This isn’t the kind of sincerity I’m looking for.”

One of his brows lifts slightly. A smile soon spreads across his face.

“Wait for me after school.”

That evening, Noah reserves the entire rooftop restaurant, the most luxurious restaurant in Rosewick.

Throughout dinner, I maintain the flawless etiquette drilled into me by the Royal family.

As candlelight flickers between us, the look in Noah’s eyes grows noticeably gentler.

“Hayley, turn around.”

I turn my head.

Brilliant fireworks explode across the night sky, illuminating half of Rosewick.

My eyes widen.

I walk over to the floor-to-ceiling windows, unable to hide my amazement, “They’re beautiful.”

“As expected of the future Alpha of the richest and most powerful pack in Rosewick, you really know how to impress someone.”

Noah leans close and whispers beside my ear, “Do you like this show of sincerity?”

“I love it.”

My eyes glisten with tears as I look at him, “Thank you, Noah. You’re so kind.”

“The Royal family has always overlooked me. No one’s ever done anything this romantic for me.”

The heat in Noah’s gaze deepens. His Adam’s apple bobs, “Really?”

A faint smile tugs at his lips, “I’m not actually that nice.”

I gently rest my head against his shoulder, “I don’t believe you. I heard you helped the former school darling when she was being bullied.”

“That’s only because her screaming was too loud. It was annoying.”

“A poor, weak Omega like her could never catch my eye.”

“She wasn’t worthy of becoming my mate. Or my Luna.”

His voice is light and casual, “But you’re different.”

“The only one I see… is you.”

His words strike me like a hammer.

After the fireworks end, I make an excuse about being tired and leave.

The last fireworks fade into darkness. The night grows even quieter.

I roll down the car window and let the cold wind wash over my face.

Vicky… now I’ve seen it clearly for you.

You fell for the wrong person.

He’s nothing but TRASH.

From that day on, Noah begins pursuing me openly.

I remain polite but distant, refusing every invitation he gives me.

One afternoon, I stand in front of the school’s Honor Board, staring absentmindedly at Vicky’s bright, radiant smile in her photo.

Footsteps approach from behind.

“Vicky was a hardworking and wonderful girl.”

Chris stops beside me, and my wolf, Rue, instantly becomes restless.

His eyes remain fixed on her picture, “She and I used to spend hours talking about philosophy.”

“She even said we’d get into Lunaris together and join the Royal Warrior Program.”

There is loneliness in his eyes. And something else. A feeling he never speaks aloud.

“It’s just a shame… she fell for Noah.”

“She believed he was her fated mate. And she gave him everything.”

Chris turns to face me, his expression unusually serious, “Noah is dangerous.”

“Don’t let his appearance fool you. Protect yourself.”

Ignoring the concern in his eyes, I take his jacket out of my bag and hand it back to him with a smile.

“I had it cleaned. Thanks for the warning.”

“Don’t worry. I’m not Vicky.”

I’ll make sure every piece of trash ends up exactly where it belongs.
