She Tried to Ruin My Future and I Ruined Her First Chapter 07

The words instant karma hit the crowd like a 

sledgehammer. 

After the shock came panic. 

“There are only three minutes left before they close entry!” 

Someone screamed it out, their voice cracking with desperation. “Our passes are still at the hotel! There’s no way we can get them back in time!” 

That one sentence lit the whole crowd on fire. 

Students surged toward Lila, shouting over one another. “This is all your fault! If you hadn’t insisted on holding them, none of this would’ve happened!” 

“Tell us where you put them! If this messes up our exam, I swear I’m not letting it go!” 

Lila curled in on herself like she was trying to 

disappear. All she could do was cry and repeat the same 

thing over and over. 

“I grabbed the wrong pouch… they’re really at the 

hotel… I didn’t mean to…” 

Evan still tried to keep control of the situation. “Everyone calm down! I already called my driver. He’s 

on his way to the hotel now. There’s still time!” 

“Still time?” someone shouted back. 

“A round trip to the hotel takes twenty minutes. Sure, 

maybe we’ll still get inside, but we’ll already be down 

twenty minutes on the test. Who’s taking responsibility 

for that?” 

Another voice yelled, “Evan, if you hadn’t played her 

attack dog, we wouldn’t be in this mess! You’re just as 

guilty as she is!” 

He stood there, pale and trembling, finally silenced by 

the weight of his own stupidity. 

I checked the time and decided I was done wasting 

another second on these people. 

Then I turned and headed for the entrance. 

“Wait! Sienna, you can’t leave!” 

Evan suddenly cut in front of me, his expression 

vicious. “Everyone else’s pass is gone. What makes your 

think you get to go in alone?” 

I lifted a brow at him. “I have a valid pass. Why 

wouldn’t I go in?” 

He choked on that for a second, then forced out, 

“You’re partly responsible for this too. You need to stay 

here and wait until everyone gets their passes back, 

then go in together.” 

Lila jerked upright like she had found a lifeline. “Yes. You can’t go in by yourself.” 

She pointed at me with shaking fingers. 

“If you hadn’t kept asking me for your pass all 

morning, I never would have panicked and grabbed the 

wrong pouch.” 

A few classmates immediately piled on. 

“She’s got a point. Why should all of us be delayed 

while Sienna gets to take the test like nothing 

happened? That’s not fair.” 

“Exactly. She has to wait until we get ours.” 

“Sienna, hand your pass over. Either we all wait, or 

none of us takes the test.” 

I looked at their ugly, shameless faces and felt nothing 

but disgust. 

They had handed their futures over to Lila willingly. 

Then when it blew up in their faces, instead of dealing 

with the consequences, they wanted to drag me down.

I let out a cold laugh. 

“When Lila asked to hold everyone’s passes, I was the one person who said no. You forced mine out of my 

hand anyway.” 

I swept my gaze across them. 

“A few minutes ago, when Lila claimed my pass was gone, you were all too happy to see me fail. You cheered for my ‘bad luck‘..” 

“Now the truth is out, and suddenly it’s still supposed to be my problem?” 

My voice sharpened with every word. “Your own choices got your passes lost. Why should I pay for your stupidity?” 

I held up my pass. “I still have mine because I was careful. I protected myself. Why exactly should I take responsibility for your mistakes?” 

My eyes moved across the crowd like blades. 

“This exam decides people’s futures. And instead of protecting your own, you’d rather drag someone else down so you don’t suffer alone. Do you hear yourselves?” 

Then I looked directly at Evan. 

“And you. You stole my fake pass, defended Lila, said I 

had bad luck, said I was framing her. Now that the truth is right in front of you, do you feel ashamed yet?” 

I took one step closer. 

“You’re only trying to stop me because you want someone to go down with you. That way you don’t have to look at your own stupidity, or your own failure.” 

His eyes went wide with a mix of shame and rage. 

Humiliated and furious, he reached for me. “Sienna, don’t push it too far-” 

“The ones who crossed the line were all of you.” 

I twisted aside and dodged his hand, then raised my 

voice toward the proctor standing by the entrance. 

“Officer! I have my ID and my pass. This student is harassing me!” 

The staff member had already noticed the commotion. 

The second he heard me, he walked over, checked my 

pass and matched it to my face. “You’re clear. Get 

inside now, the doors are locking.” 

“No! She can’t!” 

Evan tried to lunge forward again, but the proctor 

blocked him. 

“Back off! You interfere with another student again 

and I’m calling the police. No pass, no entry. That’s the 

end of it.” 

Evan looked like he still wanted to argue, but by then 

the angry students had already pulled him back. 

They were a lot more worried about whether their own passes would make it in time than about stopping me 

now. 

I gave the crowd one last glance. 

Lila was still on the ground crying. 

Evan was being swarmed with accusations. 

Ms. Bennett was spinning in circles in a panic. 

And all the classmates who had just been condemning me were now wearing the same anxiety and regret they had tried to force onto me. 

I had to admit it.
