She Tried to Ruin My Future and I Ruined Her First Chapter 06

The pass in my hand showed everything clearly. 

My photo. My name. My ID, and my room number. 

It was real, and there was no arguing with that. 

“How… how is that possible?” Evan stared at the pass in my hand, his eyes wide with disbelief. “I watched 

you hand your pass over. I gave it to Lila myself. How could it still be with you?” 

Lila looked like she had been looked like she’d seen a 

ghost. 

She stared at the ticket, her features contorting with a 

mix of confusion and pure dread. “No… that’s 

impossible. I definitely got rid of your-” 

I looked at her with a faint smile. “You definitely lost 

my pass, right?” 

She choked on her own words, her face turning a sickly 

translucent white. 

When Evan had ignored my protests the day before and 

snatched my so–called pass off my desk, I had looked 

furious on the outside, but inside I had been perfectly 

calm. 

Because the one he took had never been the real thing. 

It was a fake I had prepared ahead of time. 

Ever since freshman year, when Lila had sabotaged me 

during track day, I had known that the fragile, sweet 

image she wore was just that, an image. 

There was something twisted under it, something that 

had always carried a strange, targeted hostility toward 

1. me. 

The “accidents” that followed only proved it. 

My scholarship form disappearing. My study materials 

never reaching me. My homework getting soaked. 

After enough of that, I would have been stupid not to be 

careful. 

This exam was too important. There was no way I was 

trusting my future to a girl who’d spent three years 

trying to set it on fire. 

And just like I had expected, Lila made her move right 

before the exam. 

“So the one you gave Lila was fake?” 

A classmate finally caught on and stared at me in 

shock. 

I nodded. “That’s right.” 

Then I walked straight up to Lila and raised my voice. 

“Lila, you said you checked the passes this morning 

and everything was fine, right? So tell me something. If 

that’s true, why did the pouch turn out to be full of 

vocab flashcards?” 

She was still trying to fight her way out of it. “I checked 

them, and then… I grabbed the wrong pouch.” 

I nodded as if I was willing to grant her that point. 

“Fine. Let’s say you grabbed the wrong pouch,” I said. 

“Then how did you know, all the way here, without 

opening it once, that the one missing was mine?” 

I let the question hang for half a second. 

“Or was losing my pass the plan from the start?” 

That landed like a bomb. 

The entire crowd froze. 

“Wait, she’s right. She hadn’t unzipped it yet. How 

could she have known?” 

“Unless she already knew Sienna’s wasn’t in there.” 

“Was she… doing this on purpose?” 

The whispers turned into a low roar of suspicion. 

Lila’s face flushed bright red. She bit down hard on her 

lower lip, and tears started spilling again. “I 

guessed…” 

“Guessed?” I let out a sharp laugh. “ 

This is the most important exam of our lives, and you’re telling me you just guessed that mine was the one missing? Lila, do you really think everyone here is stupid?” 

I kept pressing, every word harder than the last. 

“You didn’t guess anything. You planned this. You played the hero so you could be the executioner. You 

knew Evan would bark at anyone who didn’t ‘cooperate,‘ and you knew I was the only one who wouldn’t. When he stole my pass and handed it to you, you must have felt like you’d already won.” 

My voice turned even colder. 

“You already had the dumpster picked out for my pass. 

You wanted me standing here, crying and broken, 

while you walked into that hall. You didn’t lose it, Lila. 

You discarded it.” 

Lila shook so hard she could barely stay upright. 

Then her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the 

ground. 

“No… no, that’s not true. I didn’t… I didn’t do that.” 

“No?” I straightened and smiled like I had suddenly 

understood everything. 

“I see. Your plan was perfect. You’d ‘lose‘ my pass, the class would blame my bad luck, and you’d still be the class’s golden girl. One tiny ‘mistake‘ for a lifetime of sabotage.” 

I looked down at her and said, slowly and clearly, “But 

you got sloppy. You were so obsessed with destroying me that you didn’t notice the pass you took was a fake. 

And in your rush to hide it, you left the real bag at the 

hotel.” 

I smiled wider. 

“You called it an accident. I didn’t. This was instant 

karma.”
