She Tried to Ruin My Future and I Ruined Her First Chapter 01

The day before the the doors opened, Lila Boone offered to hold everyone’s admission tickets for safekeeping.

I did not want to hand mine over, but Evan Mercer said I was acting like I was above everyone else.

Then he snatched my pass right out of my hand and gave it to her.

Ten minutes before we were supposed to enter the testing center, Lila came to me in tears and apologized. “Sienna, I’m sorry. I lost your admission ticket.”

I had not even said a word yet when Evan shoved me aside and looked at me with open irritation. “This isn’t Lila’s fault. Out of all these people, only yours went missing. Talk about a stroke of bad luck.”

The rest of the class chimed in, telling me to just suck it up and accept my fate.

But the second Lila opened the file pouch with everyone’s passes in it, every face in the crowd went deadly pale.

It was also the first time I had ever seen instant karma hit that hard.

It was the first day of the exam.

Outside the barricades at Ridgeview Testing Center, the air was packed with noise, parents, teachers, and students on edge. TI was double-checking my stationery when a shrill sob pierced the air.

“Sienna Hart, I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry.”

Lila was standing right in front of me, clutching a black zip file pouch. Her eyes were red and puffy.

“Sienna, your admission ticket… I think I might have lost it.”

The moment people heard that, the students around us exploded and rushed over.

“Lila, whose pass is missing?”

“Is it Sienna’s? How could that even happen? Are you sure you checked right?”

“Lila, is mine still there? This isn’t funny. This is the exam.”

The mood turned frantic as everyone scrambled to confirm their own status.

Lila wiped at her tears and raised the pouch into the air. “Don’t worry. Everyone else’s is still here. I checked again just now, and… Sienna’s is the only one missing.”

Every eye turned toward me.

I had not even opened my mouth when a hand slammed into my shoulder and shoved me aside. “Sienna, what are you making a scene about now?”

The one who pushed me was Evan.

For a second, I just stared at him.

My pass had supposedly been lost, and I had not even said one sentence yet, but he was already pinning the blame on me.

Lila stepped closer to him, crying like she had been wronged. “Evan, I accidentally lost Sienna’s admission ticket.”

His brow tightened with concern. He stroked her hair as if she were the victim, “Lila, this isn’t your fault. Stop crying.”

I let out a cold laugh under my breath. “If it’s not her fault, then whose fault is it? Mine?”

Evan stepped between us, a human shield. “Sienna, she didn’t do it on purpose. Do you really have to come at her like this?”

I didn’t flinch. “Not on purpose? Then why is mine the only one missing when everyone else’s is still there?”

“You’re so quick to forgive, Evan. If it’s no big deal, why don’t you let her ‘accidentally’ lose yours too?”

“You…”

That shut him up for half a second.

He faltered, then his expression shifted into something cruel. “You’re right, Sienna. Everyone else’s pass is just fine, so why is yours the only one missing?”

He paused, then said with loaded emphasis, “Maybe this was just your bad luck. Maybe it was meant to happen. What gives you the right to dump all of this on Lila?”

Then he went in for the kill.

“Or maybe,” he said, staring straight at me, “you never gave your pass to Lila in the first place. Maybe you’re doing this on purpose so you can frame her.”

I locked my eyes on his and asked, one word at a time, “Evan , are you absolutely sure I never gave it to her?”
