My Classmate Bragged About Her Dad’s Yacht, Unaware My Mom Paid for It Chapter 05

Jasmine did not notice anything strange about her father at all. She grabbed Gregory’s arm and shook it smugly.

“Dad! This broke loser is the one who ruined your wine!”

“She even cursed at me and said she was going to call the police on me.”

“Hurry up and have your bodyguards throw her overboard and let the fish have her.”

The boys on the deck crowded closer, eager to claim credit.

Ryan puffed out his chest, pointed at my nose, and shouted, “Don’t worry, Mr. Lynn. We’ve been watching her for Jasmine.”

“This girl is a jealous little psycho. She’s jealous of Jasmine’s money, so she needs to be taught a lesson.”

Gregory suddenly yanked his arm out of Jasmine’s grip and slapped Ryan hard across the face.

The crisp sound cracked across the deck.

Ryan clutched his face, completely stunned. He stumbled back two steps and hit the railing.

Jasmine screamed in shock.

“Dad! Why did you hit Ryan? You hit the wrong person!”

Gregory had no time to worry about Jasmine. He rushed straight over to me.

He forced a strained smile, and his voice came out weak with fear.

“Chloe… what are you doing here?”

“Could there be some kind of misunderstanding about what happened today?”

I looked coldly at his face, now full of panic and desperate pleading.

“A misunderstanding?”

“Your daughter tried to make me kneel and beg, then write her an IOU for half a million dollars.”

“What kind of misunderstanding is that supposed to be?”

The air around us froze.

Jasmine looked at me in disbelief, then turned to Gregory.

“You two… know each other?”

Gregory’s shirt was soaked through with sweat across his back.

He took a deep breath, then suddenly turned and shouted at Jasmine.

“Shut up!”

“You’re a child. You don’t understand anything! This is Ms. Shaw’s daughter, Chloe Shaw.”

“You two had a little disagreement as classmates. Was it really necessary to break things over it?”

The moment he said that, shock rippled across the entire deck.

Gregory was trying to rewrite the situation.

Not only was he trying to pin the ruined wine on me, but he was also trying to reduce the whole thing to a petty fight between classmates.

On top of that, he wanted to pull rank as the adult and pressure me into backing down.

I flipped open the cooler, took out the bottle with the shattered cork, and smashed it directly at Gregory’s feet.

The sound of breaking glass was painfully sharp.

Dark red wine splashed all over his pants.

“Ms. Shaw?”

“Gregory, you used my mother’s money to support your illegitimate daughter.”

“You stole the expensive collector’s wine my mother bought at auction and used the yacht she just purchased to play the big spender.”

“And now you have the nerve to pull rank as the adult in front of me?”

The deck fell dead silent.

The boys exchanged looks, and none of them even dared to breathe too loudly.

Jasmine’s face flushed bright red. She screamed and rushed toward me.

“Chloe, that’s bullshit!”

“This yacht belongs to my dad. He earned that money.”

“Who the hell is your mother supposed to be? As if my dad would ever need to steal from her.”

That sentence terrified Gregory out of his mind.

He spun around and slapped Jasmine hard across the face.

“I said shut your mouth!”

Jasmine fell onto the deck from the blow. She clutched the side of her face, already swelling badly, her expression blank with shock.

All her life, Gregory had never laid a finger on her.

Yet now, because of me, he had slapped her in public.

Gregory wiped the cold sweat from his face and turned back to me, still forcing that ingratiating smile.

“Chloe, this is all my fault.”

“You’re young, so you don’t understand the business dealings between adults. Some things aren’t what you think.”

He was trying to calm me down. He had even started making up lies.

“Jasmine only acted out in the heat of the moment. Once we get back, I’ll punish her properly.”

“Let’s pretend none of this happened today. There’s one hundred and fifty thousand dollars on this card. I’ll give it to you, and you won’t tell your mother, okay?”

I raised an eyebrow in mockery.

“One hundred and fifty thousand?”

“Every month, you move three hundred thousand dollars out of my mother’s accounts under the pretext of branch-office expenses and give it to that mother and daughter.”

“Now you want to buy my silence with one hundred and fifty thousand. Do you think that’s enough?”
