Canceled Honeymoon Chapter 14

“Claire.”

His jaw was shadowed with stubble. His voice was hoarse. “This is how you react when you see me?”

“Half a month with no word. You block my calls. You wipe your social media.”

“You disappear and then say it’s over. You run off to another country without a sound.”

“Do you even know what you’re doing? Do I have to drop everything and chase you to the ends of the earth for you to be happy?”

Even now, Damian thought I was throwing a tantrum.

He actually thought I should be grateful he came.

I felt a surge of absurdity. “Damian, stop flattering yourself.”

“I broke up with you a long time ago. We are done.”

“You had me tracked down illegally. I could call the cops, you know.”

I told him to let go, but my indifference only made him angrier.

He was like a wild animal. He yanked me into his arms.

His dry lips scraped against my mouth and ear in frustration.

“Claire, you don’t get to decide this.”

“I didn’t agree.”

I struggled. “Damian, did you forget we have no legal ties?”

“A breakup only takes one person to agree!”

“If you don’t let me go, I’m calling—”

Before I could finish, a force separated us.

It was the interviewer. He’d come back and grabbed Damian. People on the street stepped in to help.

“Miss, do you want us to call the police?”

Under Damian’s stunned gaze, I nodded.
