When I Was Reborn, I Froze All Her Accounts Chapter 03

Right then, someone else piped up, clearly stirring the pot on purpose.

“Ethan, you keep jumping in to take every drink meant for Olivia. What’s the real story between you two?”

“Oh, don’t go making stuff up like that.”

Olivia’s face flushed as she rushed to deny it.

“Ethan’s just being nice and helping me out, that’s all. Nothing’s going on between us.”

But Ethan never bothered to deny anything. Instead, he edged half a step closer to her.

“I’ve always thought of Olivia as a little sister. It’s only right I keep my little sister from overdrinking.”

No server came to check on me, but I didn’t care. I grabbed a random chair and sat down.

Watching Ethan’s little performance, I stood up abruptly and clapped a few times.

“Wow, what a devoted ‘sister’ act. Olivia, you really threw one heck of a graduation party!”

Every head in the room turned toward me.

I tilted my head, pretending to be deep in thought.

“Olivia’s practically grown up under the Moretti family’s care. I’m genuinely happy to see her graduate today.

I’m sorry I lost my temper and caused a fuss earlier, everyone.

To make it up to you, I’m making a call here—everyone here gets a new car. We’re all celebrating graduation, after all.”

“Anyone can pick any vehicle with a sticker price under eighty grand USD, and I’ll cover the whole cost. Consider it a little graduation blessing for everyone.”

The room exploded with cheers the moment those words left my mouth.

I quickly put on a troubled look and turned to Olivia.

“Would you mind fronting the cost from your card first? I rushed out this morning and forgot my black card at home.”

“I heard you made a pretty good chunk of change working with Ethan recently. You can cover this for me temporarily, right?”

Olivia knew I was putting her on the spot.

But since the card was technically hers now—or so she thought—she only hesitated a second before nodding.

“Of course. It’s the least I can do.”

There were over fifty classmates here, adding up to nearly four mil bucks total.

Everyone knew four mil bucks was nothing but spare change for me.

What no one expected was that Olivia had supposedly earned over four mil bucks on her own.

Most people would never see a 100 grand in their entire lives.

So even though I’d been the one promising the cars, the party instantly turned into Olivia’s personal spotlight.

Classmates lined up to toast her, showering her with compliments and nosy questions.

“Olivia, how much funds did you even pull in working at the Rossi family’s company these past months?”

“Holy cow, you’re blowing four mil bucks without blinking. You basically jumped up an entire social tier overnight!”

“Already making that kind of funds right out of high school? You’re set for life!”

Basking in their praise, Olivia turned to Ms. Reed with an air of practiced humility.

“Don’t worry, Ms. Reed. Even if Scarlett overlooked you, I’ll get you a 100 grand car to repay you for guiding me and seeing my potential.”

The teacher’s eyes lit up with emotion as she stood and took Olivia’s hand.

“Olivia, in all my years of teaching, you are easily my proudest student.”

“You’re too kind, Ms. Reed.”

Getting more carried away with all the attention, Olivia waved over a waiter.

“Waiter, bring two more bottles of your premium vintage red wine. And add a few more lobsters and king crabs to the table.”

“We don’t all get to hang out like this very often, so everybody eat, drink, and enjoy yourselves tonight!”

Another wave of cheers rippled through the crowd.

I was the one who’d offered the cars, but no one paid me any attention anymore. They’d left me completely out in the cold.

Ethan ignored me too, doting on Olivia instead.

When the king crab arrived, Ethan picked up a piece with his fork and set it on her plate.

Olivia shook her head with a playful pout.

“Nope, you have to peel it for me first, Ethan.”

Ethan reached over and tapped her on the nose.

A lot of people saw it, and several cast glances my way, clearly waiting for a scene.

“See? They keep saying they’re not together, but it’s obvious they’re a couple…”

“Shh, don’t get on our new big spender’s bad side—she’s buying us cars, remember?”

“Big spender my butt. She’s blowing four mil like it’s pocket funds, like she’s handing alms to beggars.”

“Eh… Scarlett’s family is loaded. That kind of funds is just loose change to her family.”

A bunch of ungrateful ingrates.

I sipped my sparkling water, my gaze cold.

Sensing the whispers, Olivia quickly spoke up.

“Guys, don’t get the wrong idea, okay? I truly only think of Ethan like an older brother, nothing more.”

I ignored her hollow denial and just kept eating.

The real clown show was still waiting to start.

How could I enjoy the show on an empty stomach?
