Twenty-Four Hours Later, My Betraying Alpha Crumbles Chapter 06

He watched me walk around him and head into the administration building without looking back.

The steaming sandwich clutched in his grasp suddenly felt utterly absurd to him.

He thought this was just another one of Savannah’s tricks.

Back then, all he had to do was frown, and I would come running to apologize.

But just now, the way I looked at him was clear and calm, with no longing at all.

Like he was just a stranger blocking my way.

My Omega scent smelled clean as blank paper. No reaction to him whatsoever.

A strange anger flared up in Gavin’s chest for no reason.

He tossed the sandwich into a nearby trash can and walked off with a cold scowl.

Second floor of the administration building. Professor Grant’s office.

I signed the last transfer form.

“Savannah, I’ve already talked to the staff at South Campus.” Professor Grant handed me a folder. “Also, your leg still needs regular rehab.”

“I called in a favor with a colleague to hook you up with a licensed rehab specialist.”

I nodded and thanked him sincerely. “Thank you, Professor Grant.”

Walking out of the office, I passed a girl in the hallway.

She wore a navy blue dress, her long hair tied back with a ribbon.

A soft Beta scent came off her.

When she saw me leaving Professor Grant’s office, her gaze darted away for a split second, heavy with guilty unease.

I ignored her and went downstairs.

The girl stepped into the office.

“Professor Grant, I’m here to turn in my competition form.” She set the paper on his desk and

asked casually, “That was Savannah out there, wasn’t it? What brought her down to the

administration hall today?”

Professor Grant sighed.

“She’s transferring to South Campus.”

“Poor girl. The pack healer officially diagnosed her with daily memory loss; she’ll wake up blank every single morning.”

“Right now, she doesn’t even remember the Alpha she used to love.”

Jessica’s fingers tightened around the edge of her form.

Savannah really lost her memory.

She really forgot Gavin.

Jessica walked out of the office, pulled out her phone, and looked at her chat with Gavin. Her eyes flickered. In the end, she typed nothing.

That afternoon, I met the rehabilitation specialist Professor Grant told me about. He was standing

by the track field.

His name was Kaleib.

He wore simple casual clothes. His smile was warm. He smelled faintly of sun-dried laundry.

“Savannah, right?” He handed me a bottle of water-room temperature.” I’ve gone over your full medical records. We won’t be able to get you back to elite competitive track form, but full, pain-free everyday mobility is absolutely achievable.”

His voice was calm and steady. It put me at ease.

“Thank you, Kaleib,” I said, taking the water.

“Don’t mention it.” He waved his hand casually. “This session counts toward my internship credits, so we’re actually doing each other a solid.”

He sat down on the bench next to me and started asking about how my leg felt during daily

activities.

We talked easily.

word.

There was no patronizing superiority, nor any passive-aggressive jabs hidden in every

Then a cold voice cut in.

“Savannah, are you resorting to such petty, low-down ploys just to get a rise out of me?”

I turned my head.

It was that crazy guy who blocked my way at the admin building this morning.
