They Forged My DNA Test–Fine, I’m No Longer Your Daughter Chapter 06

Mom and Dad came upstairs too.

Mom stared at the empty room for a long time before sighing.

“Let her go. She wasn’t our biological daughter to begin with.

“Maybe leaving the Valens is what’s best for her.”

Caelan suddenly spoke.

“The report was fake.”

Mom’s expression slowly froze.

“What did you say?”

Caelan lowered his eyes.

For the first time, he couldn’t bring himself to meet anyone’s gaze.

“I forged the DNA results.

“When Seraphine woke up, she couldn’t stand that she wasn’t the Valens’ only daughter.

“She said she’d already lost so many years. She didn’t want to spend the rest of her life sharing your love with Elowen.”

No one seemed to breathe.

Dad’s voice tightened.

“So… you forged the report?”

Caelan closed his eyes.

“Yes. I only wanted Seraphine to be the Valens’ only daughter.

“I thought… Elowen was strong enough to handle it.

“I thought she’d understand.”

A sharp crack split the silence.

Mom’s cup hit the floor and shattered.

“Why didn’t you tell us?

Mom’s voice trembled.

Caelan was silent for a long time.

“Because none of you questioned it.”

The answer left all of them frozen.

He was right.

They had never questioned it. They’d accepted it far too easily.

Accepted the result.

Accepted that Elowen didn’t belong to the family.

Accepted her slipping out of their lives.

Not one of them had even considered ordering another test.

Because somewhere in their hearts, they’d already decided she wasn’t truly theirs.

Dad shot to his feet, his face ashen.

“Run another test. Now.

“Whatever it says, I need the truth.”

Outside the Pack hospital, everyone waited with bated breath.

Each minute felt like a century.

A doctor emerged with the results.

“The results confirm it. Elowen Valen is your biological daughter.”

No one spoke.

Stellan suddenly remembered the test report he’d seen three months earlier.

Elowen had told them the result was unchanged, that she wasn’t their biological daughter.

They’d been relieved. They’d even thought she’d finally accepted reality.

But what if she had known the truth even then?

Dad stared at the report without moving.

Scenes from the past kept replaying in his mind.

The girl left standing in the corner.

The child always excluded from the family.

The daughter who made excuses for them even while they hurt her.

They had driven away their own flesh and blood.

They themselves had made her believe she was unwanted.

Now, at last, they knew the truth.

They hadn’t lost an adopted daughter.

They had lost their own flesh and blood.

And she wanted nothing to do with them.
