They Called Me the Pack’s Curse Chapter 07

Their faces drained of color.

They exchanged a single look, and just like that, the truth was out.

Luna Clara let out a shrill, hysterical scream, her voice thick with rage and jealousy. “Who the hell do you think you are, you little slut? You think you’re worthy of Damon? You think you deserve to be the Luna of Black Thorn Pack?”

She was practically foaming at the mouth. “Pearl loved him first! He was supposed to marry her. That was the plan. Silver Moon Pack and Black Thorn Pack would unite through their bond. Our pack would rise again. We would be powerful!”

I stared at her, stunned.

An alliance marriage. That was it.

Everything. The lies, the staged death, the manipulation. All of it had been for that one goal.

Pearl struggled violently in my grip, her eyes burning with obsession and hatred. “I saw him first! At the Pack Summit last year. He was perfect. Strong. Untouchable. He told me that if he didn’t already have someone in his heart, he would have considered an alliance.”

Her voice turned venomous. “Then I found out it was you. It was always you, Lila. You, the lost heir. The nobody. The girl who didn’t even know she was a she-wolf. You stole him from me. You stole my future. You stole our pack’s future!”

Her lips curled into something twisted. “If you die, everything goes back to the way it should be. I become the true heir of Silver Moon Pack. I marry Damon. Our packs unite. I become powerful. I get my happy ending.”

There was something unhinged in her eyes. Something that made my skin crawl.

My blood ran cold.

The truth was as absurd as it was cruel.

Alpha Silas wanted power. Luna Clara wanted her daughter’s dream fulfilled. Pearl wanted Damon, no matter the cost.

And me?

Their biological daughter.

Nothing but a sacrifice. A pawn to be discarded the moment I had served my purpose.

A tear slid down my cheek, but I didn’t feel it.

I felt numb. Hollow.

And beneath that emptiness, something burned.

“So that’s it,” I said, my voice eerily calm. “You brought me back, pretended to love me, manipulated me, even tried to drive me to suicide… all so Pearl could take my place. All for your precious alliance.”

My gaze hardened. “What about me? Did you ever think about me? Did you ever care that I was your daughter?”

Luna Clara let out a cold laugh, her eyes full of contempt. “Care about you? You were a mistake. We only brought you back because we needed a ‘real’ heir. Something to make the alliance look legitimate. Once you were gone, Pearl would replace you, and no one would ever question it.”

She smiled smugly. “That DNA test? Fake. You’re not our daughter. We found you in a human orphanage. We chose you because you look like us, and your wolf is strong enough to pass as pure Silver Moon alpha blood.”

Everything clicked into place.

I wasn’t their daughter.

I was just a tool in their twisted game.

I thought back to the day I told Damon I was the heir of Silver Moon Pack.

The way his face had lit up. The excitement in his voice as he talked about our future, about uniting our packs.

He had no idea the pack I had found was trying to kill me.

No idea that the alliance he believed in was built on lies.

A laugh slipped from my lips, cold and bitter. “You’re wrong. All of you are wrong. I’m not going to die. I’m going to tell Damon everything. And when I do, you’ll pay for this. Silver Moon Pack will fall, and you’ll be left with nothing.”

“No!” Pearl shrieked, her voice piercing. “Mom, Dad, kill her! Don’t let her speak! She can’t ruin everything! She’s alone. Kill her now and Damon will never know. I’ll still be his Luna. The alliance will still happen!

Alpha Silas and Luna Clara exchanged a look, their eyes turning ruthless.

They nodded.

The rogues stepped forward. Claws out. Fangs bared.

I was surrounded.

No escape. No way out.

The first warrior lunged at me.

And then, a sharp wail cut through the alley.

Sirens.

Black Thorn Pack enforcers.

Panic exploded through the rogues. They scattered like rats, fleeing in every direction.

Alpha Silas and Luna Clara tried to drag Pearl away, but it was too late.

The enforcers stormed in, their wolves at their sides, surrounding all three of them in an instant.
