“When… when did you figure it out?”

Pearl finally spoke.

Her voice was hoarse, her disguise completely shattered.

Her eyes burned with anger and confusion. “You’ve never even met Mark before.”

Hearing her admit it felt like something massive crushed down on my chest.

The pain was suffocating.

Still, I forced myself to speak.

“In this life, I didn’t recognize him,” I said, my voice trembling. “But in my last life, I did. He was the one who brought my father’s body back to the pack. He’s the one who told me my father killed himself.”

“You thought your plan was flawless. It wasn’t. It was full of holes.”

“That so-called Silver Moon Oracle? It was just a recording. Played through hidden speakers around the pack house. Everyone could hear it. Dad, Mom, you… all of you pretended you couldn’t. You made me think I was special. Made me believe I was the only one chosen.”

“The ‘predictions’? Dad spilling water, changing into blue pajamas… all of it was staged. You set everything up just to gain my trust.”

“And that fake graveyard? You hacked my phone. Altered the investigation reports so I’d believe there was nothing there.”

“If I had listened to my guardian, if I had stopped Dad from investing in the West Realm, none of this would’ve happened. But I didn’t…” My voice cracked. “And you still destroyed everything.”

Pearl’s face drained of color.

Her entire body trembled with rage. “That’s impossible! I was watching you every second! You never had the chance to contact anyone or find out the truth!”

A bitter laugh slipped from my lips.

“You told me you were watching me talk, but you couldn’t hear anything I said. And when Mom was ‘sick,’ I called Damon for help. I mentioned the Silver Moon Oracle on the call.”

“He didn’t react. Didn’t ask what I meant. Didn’t pretend to be confused.”

“Because he heard everything.”

My eyes locked onto hers, cold and sharp.

“Because that voice was never just in my head. Everyone could hear it. Except you and our parents pretended you couldn’t.”

“That’s when I knew.”

“That’s when I started questioning everything.”

Hatred flooded Pearl’s eyes as her wolf surged beneath the surface.

“What a shame,” she hissed. “One stupid mistake. That’s all it took. You were supposed to be easy to control. Weak. Desperate for love. Desperate for a family.”

My grip tightened around her throat, my voice turning sharp with fury.
“Tell me the truth. Why? Why go this far? Why pretend to love me just to kill me?”

“Stop!”

Two figures stepped out from the shadows.

Alpha Silas.

Luna Clara.

Alive.

“Let go of Pearl!” Luna Clara shouted, her voice thick with fury. “Now!”

Alpha Silas stared at me, disgust filling his eyes like I was nothing more than a filthy rogue. A stain on the Silver Moon Pack.

“I should’ve let you die in the human world,” he said coldly. “You’re a mistake. A curse. You should never have been born.”

I thought those words would shatter me.

But instead…

There was nothing.

No pain. No heartbreak.

Just emptiness.

They had never loved me.

Not once.

A cold laugh slipped from my lips. My hand didn’t loosen from Pearl’s throat. “I’m the one in control now. Tell me why you did this, or I’ll kill your precious daughter.”

Pearl gasped for air, her face turning blue.

Alpha Silas and Luna Clara panicked, their composure cracking instantly.

“I’ll tell you! I’ll tell you everything! Just let her go!” Luna Clara screamed, her voice breaking.

I didn’t move.

My gaze stayed icy. “If you love her so much, why bring me back? Why not leave me in the human world where it was safe?”

I had been nothing.

Just an orphaned werewolf without a pack.

Surviving on scraps.

No power. No money. No influence.

Nothing that could threaten them.

Nothing…

Except Damon.

The realization hit me all at once.

“You did all this…” My voice trembled with disbelief. “For Damon?”
