The Rebirth Of A PTSD And Betrayed Luna Chapter 04

[Hannah’s POV]

Within an hour, every trending pack headline centered on Wanda’s stolen accolades. But the tide of public opinion shifted shockingly fast.

The Ironclaw Pack’s official account released a public statement first, claiming my severe psychiatric diagnosis rendered all my accusations unreliable.

The Lupin family held a formal press conference immediately after. My parents held up heavily redacted medical records from the border rehabilitation facility, cherry-picked to paint me as a delusional liar targeting Wanda.

At the conference podium, my mother sobbed openly for the cameras. “We searched for Hannah for two full years. She was alive the whole time, yet she never reached out to us. Now that she’s home, she fabricates these horrific lies out of nowhere. I failed as a mother to raise her right…”

Wanda sat beside her, eyes glistening with manufactured sorrow. “Hannah’s my dearest friend. I had no idea she was struggling so badly with her mental health, and I hold no resentment toward her whatsoever…”

Public sentiment reversed almost overnight.

“Makes sense—she’s still undergoing psychiatric treatment, so none of her claims hold weight.”

“My heart goes out to the Alpha and Luna, stuck caring for an unstable clan member who targets them with false accusations.”

“Poor Wanda, getting slandered by someone she trusted completely.”

Thousands upon thousands of hateful comments flooded the comment section under my combat footage.

I’d barely set my phone down when a squad of Lupin family uniformed wolf guards burst through the front door. “Miss Hannah, the matriarch sent us to bring you back to the family manor.”

Home. I had no such place left to call mine.

I hurled vases, lamps, anything I could grab at them, screaming for them to leave me alone. In the end, they restrained me and hauled me into their transport back to the manor I’d once loved.

They locked me inside the third-floor master bedroom.

Downstairs, I could hear my mother chatting with Wanda. “Don’t you worry a thing, Wanda. I’ll make sure none of this sticks to you.”

“Thank you, Mom. I just hate worrying about Hannah—she’s so unwell…”

“She brought all this on herself! She never should’ve run off to that godforsaken border in the first place.”

I sank to the floor, burying my face against my knees.

Growing up, my parents had always bragged about me as the Lupin family’s proudest heir. I’d only ever dared to stand up for my own dreams once—and in return, I’d lost absolutely everything.

They kept me locked away for three full days. My phone and laptop were confiscated entirely, leaving me trapped inside that tiny bedroom with no way to reach the outside world.

On the fourth day, guards escorted me downstairs.

That evening marked the first anniversary of Donald and Wanda’s mating ceremony, and the manor gardens blazed with string lights.

Donald pulled Wanda flush against him by the waist, and they shared a passionate kiss as the entire clan cheered them on.

Colorful fireworks exploded across the night sky one after another. I clamped my hands tight over my ears, my body shaking violently.

The loud bursts blurred together with the artillery blasts I’d endured on the battlefield. Every detonation felt like it landed directly on my skin.

“Stop them! Turn the fireworks off—please!”

No one paid me the slightest attention.

I scrambled to my feet to run away, only for Donald to seize my wrist hard. “Hannah, what tantrum are you throwing now?”

“The fireworks… Donald, please, make them stop. I can’t stand the noise—I—” I clung desperately to the sleeve of his suit, my words breaking apart mid-sentence.

He tore his arm free, his face cold and unfeeling. “Enough of this, Hannah. I know you’re just putting on an act for attention.”

“I’m not!” I screamed at him through burning eyes, my voice devolving into broken, desperate begging. “Donald, please, shut the fireworks down.”

Wanda stepped over and looped her arm through his, leaning her head on his shoulder with a soft smile. “My Alpha, the fireworks are breathtaking tonight. I love them so much.”

Donald brushed a gentle finger across her nose, utterly smitten. “I’ll have them light them nonstop all night for you.”

Without a second thought, he handed me off to two armed guards. “Lock her back in her bedroom, and don’t open the door until the celebration’s over.”

I fought with everything I had to break free, but their grips were unbreakable.

The fireworks kept exploding outside, louder and more frequent by the minute.

I screamed into my palms, visions of bombed-out battlefields flashing behind my eyes. I saw blood strewn across broken rock, wounded warriors crying out for aid, entire patrols reduced to ash in an instant.

An unbearable pain swallowed me whole.

I slammed against the door like a madwoman, until my head was covered in blood and my nails were broken, yet no one came to save me.

In the end, I stumbled my way onto the windowsill and threw myself down…

Just before I hit the ground, I thought I heard a desperate cry filled with regret.

Was it just my imagination?

Who would still care about me anyway?
