The Gaming God Hated Clingy Girls Until He Met Me Chapter 08

After letting all that anger out, I felt significantly better.

I was about to change into my pajamas when my stomach let out a massive, rumbling growl.

The hunger finally caught up with me.

Thanks to the chaotic dinner, I had only eaten until I was half full, and my terrible mood meant I hadn’t

touched a single thing since.

Right now, I was practically starving.

I took the elevator down to the lobby to see if the front desk offered any late-night room service.

But the moment I stepped into the lobby, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a chillingly familiar silhouette.

Ethan hadn’t even bothered to change out of the clothes from his stream. He practically marched through the

front doors, radiating a terrifying, icy fury.

Wait, how on earth did he find out which hotel I was at?

Is this what elite old-money efficiency looks like? It literally made my skin crawl.

Without a second thought, I spun right around on my heel, running back to the elevators and mashing the

buttons like a madwoman.

I reached into my pocket to call Chase, only to realize I had left my phone up in the room.

The elevator was stuck on the seventh floor.

Biting my lip, I bolted toward the emergency stairwell, taking the steps two at a time, instantly leaving me

completely winded and gasping for air.

As I paused to catch my breath, soft, measured footsteps echoed from the stairs behind me. “Still got

enough energy to run?”

I spun around. Ethan took a deliberate step toward me.

I took a step back; he kept closing the distance.

Until my back hit the cold concrete wall, completely trapping me.

I had never seen the always-composed Ethan Sterling look this intensely predatory.

The sheer weight of his six-foot-three frame looming over me forced me to swallow hard, instantly abandoning all my bravado.

“Ethan, okay, look, I was wrong. I messed up, alright? My brother is waiting for me upstairs, I need to go

back.”

Ethan stared straight into my eyes, completely blocking any escape route, his voice dropping to a low,

dangerously seductive murmur.

“Lily, even a spoiled little girl has to face the consequences when she misbehaves.”

He leaned down, completely enveloping me in his shadow as the air between us vanished.

“Am I that much of a two-pump chump?”

When you’re completely cornered, you have to know when to submit.

I held both hands up in front of my chest, waving them frantically. “No, no, no! I’ve noticed you have

incredible… uh… heart! Yes, heart! You have a massive capacity for forgiveness!”

Ethan caught my frantic hands, pinning them down. “Am I an arrogant old man?”

“I was just talking crazy! You’re incredibly youthful, you look exactly like a college student. Seriously, can I please go now?”

The man buried his face right into the crook of my neck, his hot breath brushing against my skin, sending a

violent electric shock straight down my spine. His icy voice was now laced with pure temptation.

“Lily, one last question. Tell me… who exactly is this ‘hubby’ of yours?”

Was he seriously interrogating me right now?

I internally cursed myself. If I wanted to talk trash, I should’ve just kept it in my head instead of throwing a

tantrum in his live stream.

“Ethan,” I bargained in a tiny voice, “I promise I’ll never call you hubby again. From now on, whenever we see

each other, we can just pretend we’re total strangers, okay?”

“Too late.”

That line seemed to trigger something dark inside him.

A wave of absolute possessiveness-something I had never seen in him before-flared in his eyes. “Lily Miller, you’re the one who started this.”

“I showed so much restraint. I gave you countless opportunities to back away, and you stayed. Now you want to act like we’re nothing? Too late.”

His usually cold tone carried a faint, almost heartbreaking hint of vulnerability as his chiseled fingers gently traced the outline of my lips.

My heart was pounding so violently against my ribs I thought it would burst, my voice trembling out of

control.

“Ethan, stop, you can’t do this. Where are your manners? Where is that high-class upbringing and gentlemanly restraint…?”

Ethan raised an eyebrow, unbuckling his luxury watch and sliding it into his pocket.

“As your brother’s roommate, I can be a gentleman-patient, understanding, and controlled. But Lily, a sibling

dynamic isn’t what you wanted from me, is it?”

“When you were using every shameless trick in the book to provoke me, did you honestly think it wouldn’t

end like this?”

I was completely dumbfounded. I never in a million years imagined such scandalous words could come out

of Ethan Sterling’s mouth.

Before tonight, I had always been the one driving the ship, playfully throwing out bold flirtations because I

knew he was an uptight, proper gentleman who would never actually cross the line. That’s why I was so

fearless.

But now that the tables were turned, I realized I had absolutely zero defense. My hands were pinned securely

above my head, my voice turning soft and entirely useless.

“Ethan, don’t. You can’t do this.”

“But Lily, this is exactly how you treated me.”

He leaned in close, his voice dripping with dangerous affection. “Three seconds. And then I’m going to kiss

you.”

“One.”

“Wait, Ethan, just calm down for a second-”

“Two.”

“Ethan, wait! Don’t you absolutely loathe me?!”

“Three.”
