The Gaming God Hated Clingy Girls Until He Met Me Chapter 07

Our eyes locked. The moment Chase saw me, he instantly ditched the girl and marched over, lightly tapping my forehead.

“Lily, check your phone. Do you have any idea how many times I called you? Your brother is a busy guy, my

time is incredibly valuable, kid.”

I pulled out my phone-twenty-three missed calls.

To ensure my date with Ethan wouldn’t be interrupted, I had put my phone on silent and completely forgot to

turn it back on afterward.

Chase immediately launched into a rapid-fire interrogation. “Where did you go? Who were you with? And how did you get back?”

I turned around to call out to Audrey, but the moment she saw Chase from the driver’s seat, she slammed the

door shut.

Completely forgetting about her supposed plan to visit a professor, she hit the gas and sped away.

My shoulders slumped. “It’s all your fault. You’re so hideous you scared the pretty lady away.”

Chase caught the scent of alcohol on my breath and instantly realized something was seriously wrong.

“What lady? Lily, why do you look like a deflated balloon? Tell me who upset you. Your brother will personally go pop their tires right now.”

“It’s nothing… Chase, I think… I think I’m done chasing Ethan.” The moment the words left my mouth, my

emotions completely spilled over.

Chase’s usual playful, careless demeanor vanished instantly, and panic took over.

He scrambled through his pockets but couldn’t find a single tissue. Setting the bags of fruit right on the

concrete, he used the pads of his thumbs to gently wipe away my tears.

“Hey, hey, it’s okay. If you don’t want to chase him, then don’t. It’s not a big deal. Why are you crying like the world is ending? Come here, let me give you a hug.”

On the way from the campus gates to a nearby hotel room, Chase did everything he could to act like a clown

just to make me smile.

Only when my tears finally stopped did he let out a massive sigh of relief.

“Lily, there are plenty of fish in the sea. Honestly, Ethan Sterling is totally mid anyway. Nothing to lose sleep over. He’s not even half as handsome as your brother, right?”

I bit my lower lip. “Chase, can you try a different way of comforting me? I can’t agree with that without completely losing my mind.”

Chase looked up at the ceiling in a dramatic pose.

“Lily, it’s not like this is your first crush. You’ve always bounced back fine before. Why are you acting so

pathetic this time?”

I sniffled. “Maybe… because I actually fell in love with Ethan. Chase, you’ve dated so many girls, have you

ever actually, truly loved someone…?”

Chase choked on his words, instantly dodging the question. “It’s getting late. Go to sleep. I’m right next door

if you need anything.”

He flipped on the bedside lamp, turned off the main lights, and reluctantly left the room, looking back at me

three times before closing the door.

But my mind was a chaotic mess, completely unable to calm down.

Suddenly, my phone buzzed with a notification. Ethan had just started his live stream.

I clicked in, and the chat instantly swarmed me.

[Hey, the baby voice girl is here! So, how was the date? Did our resident millionaire treat you? You should’ve ordered the most expensive thing on the menu!]

[Why is she so quiet tonight? Not flirting with our streamer anymore?]

[Wait, I think someone mentioned that Ethan hates cute, sugary girls. Hey, maybe try switching up your style,

it might speed up the chase.]

Seeing that, all my sleepiness evaporated. I sat up in bed, my fingers flying across the keyboard in pure,

unadulterated fury.

[Lmao, wow, he’s picky now? Honestly, he’s completely mid. I’m over him.]

[An arrogant, icy old man who looks like he has zero stamina. He doesn’t deserve someone as young and

gorgeous as me anyway.]

[Mr. High and Mighty, I already have a new hubby. He’s our frat god, been chasing me for six months. He’s a million times sweeter, hotter, and guess what? He loves cute girls…]

The moment my messages cleared, Ethan’s face visibly changed on camera.

His dark eyes turned incredibly intense, a deep, stormy shadows swirling within them

Ethan usually played with a hyper-aggressive, ruthless edge, but right now, he sat frozen as his character

was repeatedly slaughtered on screen, completely unresponsive.

[Holy crap, what just happened? The cute fan girl just turned into a literal savage.]

[Nooo! I literally just started shipping them, how is it already over?!]

[Don’t leave! If you stop showing up, who’s going to make this boring stream funny?]

A full thirty seconds of agonizing silence passed before Ethan finally spoke, his voice cold enough to freeze

water.

“Apologies, everyone. I have some urgent family matters to handle. Cutting the stream short.”

It wasn’t until much later that I learned this was the single, solitary time in Ethan’s entire career that he had ever voluntarily abandoned a live stream.

My phone flashed with an incoming text from [Husband).

[Where are you.]

[Send your location.]

[Lily Miller, answer me.]

Wow, look who’s aggressive now. How had I never noticed this terrifying, dominant side to him before?

I casually fired back.

[I’m currently sitting on my frat god’s lap. Come get me if you think you have what it takes.]

The three little dots instantly started dancing on the screen.

Before he could even hit send, I smoothly blocked his number and deleted him across every platform. Absolute perfection.
