The moment Sara saw me, she snarled, “Bitch! Why aren’t you dead yet?”

I looked at her coldly. “You spend your whole life wishing death on others. Aren’t you afraid of karma?”

Ryan kicked her in the ribs. She curled up, screaming curses at him.

“Ryan! You killed my baby! Go to hell!”

He roared, “Shut up! You plotted, manipulated, and even used your own child as a bargaining chip!”

Sara laughed hysterically. “You call me scheming? At least I’m honest! You’re the liar! You betrayed your mate but kept putting on a show! You drove her to the brink, and now you want to play the hero?”

I sat up slowly. My voice was quiet, but it carried an edge of menace.

“Whatever happens between you two is none of my business. But Sara—you owe me a life and a future. And you, Ryan…”

I looked at him, my gaze ice-cold.

“You let her hurt me. You chose to believe her over me. The day you walked away, you lost the right to call yourself my mate.”

“Your regret changes nothing. You’re just a disruption to my life now.”

“And Ryan… I was carrying your child too. It was still alive when you chose Sara and left me to those monsters.”

His face drained of color.

“But things are different now. I don’t love you anymore.”

“Julian and I have been together for a month. We share the same dreams. We understand each other.”

“It’s over between us.”

He opened his mouth, but no sound came out.

He dragged Sara out of the room.

A few days later, Julian said softly. “The healer says you’ll make a full recovery. Also, an anonymous donor paid for your lifelong medical expenses enough to cover every surgery and rehab session.”

I let out a breath and didn’t press further on who the donor was.

It was weeks later when the news reached me. Ryan’s car plunged over a cliff on the way back to the Ashen Pack. He and Sara died instantly.

I felt absolutely nothing.

It was just like reading about a stranger in the newspaper.
