The Alpha’s Crippled Luna Chapter 01

The Alpha’s Crippled Luna Chapter 01

Three years ago, a devastating explosion in the Ashen Pack territory cost me my leg.

I went from being an acclaimed elite warrior to a burden who needed constant care.

But Ryan Peyton, the Alpha of the Ashen Pack, defied everyone’s objections to take me as his mate.

Then one day, I found out I was pregnant and went to the pack hospital to register for prenatal care.

The clerk stared at my mate bond certificate, her face full of suspicion.

“Ma’am, this certificate is a fake.”

Her tone carried a hint of impatience.

“Even if you don’t have a mate, we can still process your registration. There’s no need to use fake documents.”

I froze, rushing to explain. “But I do have a mate. We finished all the legal paperwork.”

“Then why isn’t he here in person to register with you?”

I hesitated before answering. “My mate is Alpha Peyton.”

The two staff members exchanged a look and smiled knowingly.

“That’s the third woman this month claiming to be Alpha Peyton’s mate. Alpha Peyton loves his Luna fiercely—how could he have an affair…”

Her voice trailed off as a stack of documents dropped onto the counter.

I looked down, and the bold text jumped out at me.

[Newborn Registration Form—Father: Ryan Peyton, Mother: Sara Sinclair.]

My whole body went rigid, and my blood ran cold.

I walked out of the pack hospital in a daze.

In the distance, brilliant fireworks exploded over the plaza.

Ryan’s clear, deep voice broadcast from the speakers.

“Sara, thank you for making me a father.”

My wolf inside me, Lia, and I walked back in silence, too shattered by the pain and shock to speak.

I used to be the pack’s top elite warrior, revered by countless pack members.

Then the explosion happened—it leveled half a block and ended my warrior career.

Since then, I walked with a crutch, left the training grounds, and lived in near-total isolation.

Through my darkest moments, Ryan stayed by my side.

He knelt at the Moon Altar and swore to the Moon Goddess to take me as his mate.

“Sienna, you are the mate chosen by my wolf and me, my only Luna. I won’t abandon you just because you’re injured.”

He settled me into a private mountain estate with a medical team on standby.

Only later did I learn that the bomb had been meant for him all along.

A rival had planted it in his office building, but Ryan wasn’t there that day—he was patrolling the border training grounds.

I had gone to visit him… and walked straight into hell.

The blast killed several pack members and changed my life forever.

Afterward, he knelt before the Peyton elders and the pack council, demanding to seal the bond with me.

“In my heart, Sienna is already my mate. She was injured because of me. How can I turn my back on her?”

Eventually, the mastermind behind the explosion was captured and locked in the pack dungeon.

One day, a girl collapsed at the door of our pack house, sobbing hysterically.

“Please, spare my brother! He just took money to do a job—he didn’t mean to hurt anyone!”

That girl was Sara Sinclair.

Ryan ordered her dragged away without hesitation.

But she kept coming back.

The last time, I saw her kneeling at the pack house door.

My PTSD flared up instantly, and I suffered a total breakdown.

Ryan snapped.

He roared and broke Sara’s legs with his own hands.

“Your brother did this to Sienna, and you have the nerve to beg for mercy? Not a chance. You and him—you’ll both pay the same price.”

I never imagined Ryan would get involved with her.

Let alone have a child with her.

The moment I stepped through the front door, Ryan rushed toward me with a frown.

“Sienna, where did you go? The housekeeper said you left alone. I told you—if you need anything, wait for me.”

I forced down the turmoil in my chest. “You were busy. The driver wasn’t around, so I took a cab. I just wanted to get my nails done.”

He took my hand. “Then why didn’t you?”

I lowered my eyes. “Nothing I liked. Too flashy. Came back early.”

He let out a long breath, relief in his voice.

“Don’t do that again. You know how worried I get.”

I nodded submissively. “Okay, I won’t.”

That night, I lay awake, unable to sleep.

Memories looped in my head—every act of kindness, every promise, every lie.

I reached across the bed. It was empty.

Slipping out of bed, I heard low talking coming from the bathroom.

I crept closer. Ryan’s voice was deep and gentle, seemingly coaxing someone on the other end of the line.

“Be sweet, honey. You’re pregnant—think of the baby, okay?”

A muffled sob came through.

“You broke my legs. They hurt whenever it rains. I have nightmares constantly. I just want you with me—is that too much to ask?”

Ryan’s voice softened. “I was harsh earlier. I’m sorry. I’ll make it up to you.”

“Then come to me right now,” she pleaded.

He paused, lowering his voice. “She’s home. I can’t right now.”

“I’m your legal mate! Why do I have to hide like this?” Her voice spiked. “I want to live with you! Otherwise… I’ll terminate the pregnancy!”

Sara burst into loud wailing.

A sudden gasp erupted from the other side of the line.

“Luna! Are you okay?”

“Help! She’s passed out!”
