The Alpha’s Crippled Luna Chapter 02

The Alpha’s Crippled Luna Chapter 02

The bathroom door flew open. Ryan rushed past me, leaving nothing but a gust of wind in his wake.

I stood there, finally letting out a soft sigh.

Lia sighed along with me.

For all these years, even with a crutch, I had considered myself the luckiest woman in the world.

Whenever I stared longingly at the warriors training, Ryan would pull me into his arms and press a tender kiss to my forehead.

“Don’t look. That life is over. I’m here now, okay?”

I sat alone on the sofa for a long time.

Later, I found a velvet box in the coffee table drawer.

My heart skipped a beat.

Inside was a diamond ring—the very one from the recent auction that had shattered price records

I had begged Ryan for it, but he had only ruffled my hair, his touch gentle yet firm.

“Too flashy. Not your style. Let’s pick another one, alright?”

The diamond gleamed with a cold, sharp brilliance.

Beneath it lay a folded note. I opened it slowly.

[Sara, happy anniversary. Thank you for making me a father. I’ll take care of you forever.]

My hands shook as I closed the box, but I couldn’t help but laugh.

So, in this relationship, I was the third wheel.

How pathetic.

I thought I had found happiness, yet I had been living a lie the entire time.

I didn’t sleep all night.

Just as dawn broke, the front door of the pack house pushed open.

Ryan stood there, wheeling a pink suitcase like a devoted mate.

Behind him, a brunette peeked out, her voice soft.

“Hi, I’m Sara.”

I froze.

Ryan explained calmly, “I hired her to be your private nurse. She’ll take care of you full-time.”

Bitterness surged in my throat, but I said nothing.

Ryan then seemed to realize he owed me an explanation.

“The medical team called last night and said you need professional rehabilitation support. So I sorted it out first thing.”

He paused, his voice softening. “I know you hate her brother. But she’s suffered enough. She begged me, saying she wants to make amends. We should give her a chance, right?”

He fabricated that entire excuse just to bring her in.

I nodded calmly. “Okay.”

He studied my face. “What’s wrong? You look off.”

I shook my head. “It’s just the rain. My leg hurts.”

Guilt flashed in his eyes. “I’ll have someone massage it later.”

Sara spoke up. “I studied nursing. I can do it.”

Ryan blinked, then smiled. “Alright. Let Sara help.”

She pressed down hard on my calf. White-hot pain shot up my leg instantly.

After that, she found new ways to torture me every single day.

Once, she brought a basin of water for my feet.

The moment I dipped my toes in, the pain made me recoil with a gasp.

She lunged forward to force my feet back in. But I pushed her away.

Water splashed everywhere, drenching the floor.

She gasped and collapsed onto the floor.

Ryan rushed in and held her. “What happened?”

Sara’s eyes brimmed with tears.

“I’m sorry, Alpha Peyton. I misjudged the temperature. I’m so useless—please let me resign…”

She turned her wrists over—her hands were red, swollen, and blistered.

Ryan turned to look at me, blame in his eyes. “She’s new. Don’t be so hard on her.”

I bit my lip and kept quiet.

He carried Sara out and left me behind alone.

I rolled up my pant leg. A gruesome burn mark stained my skin.

Silently, I applied the ointment.

The physical pain was nothing compared to the hollow ache in my chest.

I then booked a flight for three days later.

I’d take my child and vanish from his life for good.

Late that night, a faint sound downstairs woke me.

I crept to the landing.

Ryan and Sara were curled up together on the sofa.
