The Alpha’s Crippled Luna Chapter 03

The Alpha’s Crippled Luna Chapter 03

Sara’s hand was wrapped in bandages. She leaned weakly against Ryan’s chest.

He stroked her hair. “Does it still hurt?”

“Rest well for the next few days. I’ll have the other caretakers look after her.”

Sara pouted. “It hurts a lot… but I’m willing to endure anything for you.”

“I know she hates me. Let her. My brother ruined her life, after all.”

Ryan pulled her closer. “Forget about the past. You’re too kind… and I hurt you once before. Can you forgive me?”

Sara snuggled against him, a triumphant gleam flashing in her eyes.

Their breathing grew heavy.

She smiled smugly, draping a leg over his.

“I bet she could never handle this position, right?”

I gripped the banister, my nails digging deep into my palms.

Since the accident, all intimacy between us had vanished.

I had asked him for a child once. He just held me and said, “Sienna, having you is enough. I love you whether we have a child or not.”

But now, he had gotten another woman pregnant right under my nose.

A sharp pain flared in my abdomen. The baby grieved along with me.

I staggered back to my room.

When I came downstairs to the dining room for breakfast, Ryan and Sara were already there—Sara wrapped her arms around him from behind. He absentmindedly patted her head.

Hearing my footsteps, they split apart immediately.

Ryan took my hand. “Sienna, there’s an auction today. Pick whatever jewelry you like, okay?”

Because of motion sickness, I always sat in the back.

I slid in. Sara smoothly slid into the passenger seat.

Ryan stiffened, glanced back, but said nothing.

At the auction, Ryan bought everything I laid my eyes on.

Halfway through, he and Sara exchanged a look, then left for the restroom together.

I followed.

Turning the corner, Ryan pulled out the diamond ring and slipped it onto her finger.

“Tomorrow, I’ll petition the council for your official Luna allowance, and I’ll make our child the primary heir. Is that enough?”

Sara gasped, throwing her arms around him.

I bit my lip hard and slid back to my seat.

When they returned, their faces were calm. Only Sara’s eyes sparked with victory.

On the way home, Ryan took a call and left in a hurry.

Only Sara and I remained in the car.

Suddenly—a screech. An impact.

Darkness consumed us.
