Six Years As His Luna. He Only Wanted My Sister Chapter 06

While the healer examined me, Cyrus stayed outside.

He tried to go in. Kane blocked him.

“She’s dead.”

“You want everyone to keep circling her?”

Cyrus looked at him.

“If we don’t find out the truth, no one will speak for how she died.”

Kane held up the white ribbon in an evidence bag.

“If you really want justice for her, wait.”

Hours later.

The healer gave the findings.

“Clear restraint marks on both wrists.”

“Old knee injury, plus recent kneeling pressure wounds.”

“She still had a high fever at death.”

“Chest bound. Mouth blocked. She suffocated.”

“Signs of severe struggle before death.”

Cyrus asked,

“Where did the knee wounds come from?”

A carriage maid finally broke.

“Sinclair made her kneel in the dark room all night.”

“Because she refused to bond with Kane.”

“Today Ronan had us tie her up.”

“Lila said she was just faking not being able to breathe.”

Cyrus’s head snapped around.

“Who tightened the ribbon last?”

The maid sobbed.

“Lila.”

“Mrs. Sinclair wanted to loosen it.”

“Lila said time was almost up. She couldn’t let her run.”

The Sinclair family arrived fast.

My father’s first words,

“Maeve was a Sinclair.”

“Her affairs should be handled by the Sinclairs.”

Cyrus looked up.

“Handled how?”

“Bury her quick, then tell everyone she died of an old illness?”

My father’s face darkened.

“Cyrus. This is family business.”

“From the moment she died, it stopped being family business.”

Cyrus held up the dissolution scroll.

We had both pressed our handprints.

But the full moon hadn’t come. It wasn’t truly finished.

“She is still my Luna.”

“And you are murderers.”

“Her funeral is not yours to decide.”

Kane punched him in the face.

Cyrus staggered back. Blood at the corner of his mouth.

“While she was alive, you pushed her away.”

“Now that she’s dead, why won’t you let her go?”

Cyrus didn’t hit back.

Only wiped the blood.

“Because for six years, I failed her.”

“I’ll handle her affairs.”

“I’ll investigate every wrong done to her. One by one.”

Kane sneered.

“You’re not seeking justice for her.”

“You just can’t accept that she’s really no longer yours.”

Cyrus went silent.

A long time later, he actually said,

“Yes.”

“I’m selfish.”

“While she was alive, I was the one who proposed dissolving the bond.”

“I forced her into another mate.”

“Now she’s dead, and I can’t even treat her as a former mate.”

“I know she may not want me handling her funeral.”

“But I have no chance to ask her anymore.”

Kane was silent for a moment.

Then he made three demands.

First, all evidence must go through the elders and arbiters.

No private settlement.

Second, everyone in the Sinclair family involved must face pack trial.

Third, her gravestone must bear her full name.

Maeve Sinclair.

She was not anyone’s property.

Cyrus agreed to each one.

He didn’t send her body back to the Sinclairs.

He arranged a private cold room.

He went back alone to the estate where we’d lived six years.

The house was empty. Like no one had ever lived there.

My clothes were gone.

My books were gone.

My workroom files were cleared.

Even the paintings on the walls had been taken by Sia.

Cyrus stood there. Didn’t step further in for a long time.

While he was still thinking about how to persuade me to accept Kane in seven days.

I had already taken everything that belonged to me.

Not one piece left.

I had already decided to let go.

He forced me for Lila.

He was a murderer too.

Sia was found in the storeroom behind the Sinclair estate.

She’d been caught climbing the wall.

Both hands scraped raw.

They released her.

She ran to the farewell hall and collapsed beside me, sobbing.

Cyrus stood in the doorway.

A long time later, he asked,

“Why didn’t she try to find me again?”

Sia’s head snapped up.

“She tried. Three times.”

“The first time, she asked you to cancel the arrangement with Kane.”

“You told her to wait seven days.”

“The second time, she still had a fever.”

“She asked you to call the Sinclairs yourself and tell them to stop pushing.”

“You still told her to wait.”

“The third time, she told you exactly what they were doing to her.”

“You didn’t care!”

Sia grabbed the unopened medicine beside her and threw it at Cyrus.

“Alpha.”

“She wasn’t silent. She called for help.”

“Every time she begged you, you pushed her one step closer to death.”

Cyrus said low,

“The people I sent…”

“Were all blocked at the door.”
