The other two roommates were there.

Janice saw she had an audience and got confident.

I said, “No.”

It was too weird.

She held her phone out to me.

“Just join the chat first. We can figure out a meal later.”

“I told you, no. I don’t need your dinner. Just knowing you’re sorry is enough.”
