He lifted my left hand.

The middle finger is for dating.

He slipped it onto my ring finger instead, all serious and smug.

His smirk nearly blinded me.

I kissed his cheek.

He paused, then kissed me back — on the lips.

Between breaths, he said, “I have another gift for you.”

“Yeah?”

He took my hand and slowly guided it from his chest down to his abs.

I felt a ribbon.

I caught on instantly.

“You’re so extra.”

He bit my ear lightly.

“Isn’t that why you’re with me?”

I got all hot and made an impulsive decision.

“I’m calling in sick tomorrow.”

We were walking out, all lovey-dovey, when we ran straight into Caleb.

Looked like he was walking Janice back too.

She glared at me from behind him.
