Principeesa Is So Gorgeous, and She’s No Longer Yours Chapter 08

Or rather, his temporary residence.

He’d relocated from New York to oversee business partnerships with our families, which was how he’d grown close with Arthur.

The bedroom, decorated entirely in black and white, felt stark and cold.

From outside the door, I caught the low rumble of Kyson speaking Italian, seemingly mid-meeting with someone.

I sat up slowly, pressing my fingertips to my temples to clear my foggy head, then grabbed my fully charged phone from the nightstand.

Arthur was pinned at the top of my message list, with a string of unread texts waiting.

[Did you get into a fight with Leo? He’s been acting unhinged, blowing up my phone with hundreds of calls.]

[Did you call me? Why aren’t you replying to my texts?]

[Not picking up video calls either? Charlotte, talk to me, you’re scaring me.]

[Thank god Kyson called to fill me in. So you’re staying over at his place right now?]

[I’m heading back home immediately.]

A few more messages rolled in, presumably after Kyson had updated him again.

[Kyson’s a really solid guy, honestly.]

[He dropped an entire meeting to bring you home and look after you personally, worried the household staff wouldn’t take proper care of you while you’re sick.]

[I only found out because I was scheduled to meet his business partner for a conference.]

[Can you believe it? It’s a two-hundred-million-euro project. I remember Leo’s also been aggressively bidding to land this contract—this is a huge win for Kyson now.]

[I wasn’t originally sold on Kyson, y’know. I was shocked when he said he wanted to get to know you with marriage as the end goal.]

[Looks like he wasn’t just talking empty words. This guy genuinely cares about you.]

[Can’t wait for the day I get to be his brother-in-law.]

[You still asleep?]

[My flight lands in two hours.]

My cheeks flushed as my eyes caught the words “two hundred million euros” and “brother-in-law.”

I didn’t notice when a tall figure blocked the light in front of me until I lifted my head to meet Kyson’s gaze.

The raw tenderness in his eyes left me momentarily dazed.

I couldn’t quite wrap my head around what had drawn him to me in the first place.

He grew flustered under my unwavering stare, glancing off to the side, his voice dropping to a rough timbre.

“Charlotte, don’t look at me like that.”

A teasing impulse struck me, and I joked lightheartedly.

“But you’re really good-looking. What’s wrong with me admiring you a little?”

Only after the words left my mouth did I catch the faint, coquettish lilt in my tone.

He let out a helpless chuckle. “Alright then.”

With that, he bent forward until he was the one gazing up at me.

Kyson’s eyes swam with undisguised fondness.

“This way you’ve got a much clearer view.”

It would be impossible for anyone to remain unaffected staring at a face like his.

From this angle, I could almost read a quiet sense of surrender written across his features.

Dressed in loose loungewear, I could see the defined rise and fall of his pectoral muscles beneath his sharp collarbone.

Every shift of my expression didn’t escape his notice. Kyson smiled, then gently wrapped his hand around mine, asking tentatively.

“Charlotte… do you wanna feel for yourself?”

His voice carried an almost hypnotic undertone.

I’d assumed it would only be a casual brush against his chest.

Somehow, we ended up kissing instead.

Minutes later, I slumped breathlessly against his chest.

Kyson’s voice came out husky as he spoke.

“So… does this make us an official couple now?”

I nodded shyly. After all, I’d grown up living under the strict rules of the Ferraro household; aside from Leonardo, I’d never dated anyone.

Come to think of it, I’d never truly had a real boyfriend at all.

Leonardo hadn’t counted for anything real.

Kyson let out a warm, muffled laugh.

I swatted his chest half-heartedly in annoyance, only for him to pull me tighter against him before leaning in to kiss me once more.

Now that I was feeling lucid again, I had no reason to linger at Kyson’s place any longer.

I told him I needed to head home, and longing flickered plainly across Kyson’s face.

Even so, he grabbed his car keys to drive me back.

Midway through the ride, I couldn’t hold back the most cliché question lingering in my mind.

“What made you catch feelings for me, anyway?”
