Principeesa Is So Gorgeous, and She’s No Longer Yours Chapter 07

Half my words at that four-person dinner were just me shooting off my mouth out of irritation, and the other half was how I truly felt deep down.

Unfortunately, Arthur had taken every single word seriously.

The very day I got home, he sent me Kyson’s contact information.

I dragged my feet for ages before adding him, and we barely exchanged a handful of messages afterward.

The reason was simple enough: after Arthur showed me photos of Kyson, I wrote him off as a vain guy who heavily photoshopped his photos to look like a runway model, leaving me with an immediate unfavorable impression.

Now that I was face-to-face with the real man, I realized he was infinitely more attractive in real life than in his photos.

The server double-checked to confirm we knew each other before letting me climb into the car.

Conscientious about his task, he snapped dozens of photos circling the entire car from every possible angle.

Inevitably, Kyson ended up in several of the shots.

Far from annoyed, Kyson even flashed a peace sign straight at the camera lens.

I felt a twinge of embarrassment.

“I really appreciate you going out of your way for this.”

Kyson’s eyes crinkled gently with a smile.

“It’s really no big deal at all.”

Silence settled between us at first.

When a familiar English track started playing through the car speakers, I couldn’t hold back my curiosity.

“You’re a fan of this singer too?”

Kyson nodded and started listing off the artist’s albums like he’d known them by heart for years.

Energized, I jumped in to share my own history following the musician’s work.

We drifted naturally from music to movies, then onto books.

Before we knew it, the hour-long drive had come to an end.

I hadn’t expected to click this effortlessly with Kyson, and a faint twinge of reluctance tugged at me when we reached my driveway.

Kyson’s gaze softened.

“Would you wanna hang out again sometime, if you’re up for it?”

There was tentative, careful hesitation laced in his tone.

I smiled and nodded.

“I’d like that.”

Kyson nodded firmly. After the black Bugatti pulled away from the curb, he pulled a goofy little S-shaped swerve as he drove away.

I burst out laughing at the sight.

My mood, which had lightened considerably, crashed right back to misery the second a text from Leonardo popped up on my screen.

[Who is this guy?]

[Charlotte, how can you be so reckless? Getting into some random man’s car just like that?]

[You don’t even know him, yet you’re going off with him? Do you have any idea what kind of person he is?]

[We haven’t broken up, and you’re already chasing after another man?]

I shook with rage.

This two-timing man who wanted to have his cake and eat it too—hungry for both US dollars and euros—had the gall to call me loose?

My fingers flew across the screen typing a reply.

[We’re done. Happy now?]

Without waiting for his response, I deleted his number and blocked him all in one quick move

Coursework was fairly light during my sophomore year, and Kyson often stopped by campus to take me out for meals.

Bit by bit, we grew close.

His black Bugatti drew far too much unwanted attention, so I dropped a subtle hint about it. The next day, he showed up behind the wheel of a Porsche instead.

When I still wore a tight, uneasy expression, Kyson sounded faintly dejected.

“This is literally the least expensive car I own out of everything in my garage.”

I sighed and let the matter rest.

My family was upper-middle class at best—big fish in a small pond, so to speak. We were nothing compared to old money like Kyson’s family.

Gossip started going around campus that I was some rich man’s sugar baby, though I remained completely unaware of the gossip at the time.

One day, I’d eaten something that disagreed with me, and mid-class I couldn’t hold it in any longer, sprinting out of my seat to throw up.

After class I headed to the campus nurse’s office, where the nurse wrote me a referral to get scans done at a larger hospital downtown.

The school wasn’t isolated, yet every ride-hailing service came up empty no matter how hard I tried to book one right then.

I couldn’t get through to Arthur either. Doubled over, clutching my cramping stomach, I sank down onto the curb—and that was when Kyson showed up like a total lifesaver.

His car door flew open. In three quick strides, Kyson reached me and lifted me up bridal-style in his arms.

Students entering and leaving the school craned their necks to stare.

I tried to wriggle free, but my limbs felt weak; I didn’t have the strength to struggle at all.

Kyson’s aura felt noticeably frigid, nothing like the gentle, thoughtful man I’d come to know.

My stomach spasmed worse mid-journey, and I ended up vomiting inside Kyson’s car.

I grew flustered, my voice cracking with the urge to cry.

“I’m… so sorry I messed up your car.”

Kyson didn’t care in the slightest. He even freed one hand to stroke my back in slow, soothing motions.

“Charlotte, you never have to say you’re sorry around me, no matter what happens”

I stayed hazy and disoriented for the rest of our hospital visit, my only anchor the broad, solid expanse of Kyson’s back in my line of sight.

When I finally regained full consciousness, I realized I was inside Kyson’s residence.
