Principeesa Is So Gorgeous, and She’s No Longer Yours Chapter 02

Arthur came back from moving the car to find an empty table and a bewildered look on his face.

“Where’d Leo go? He was supposed to pay tonight—did he just ditch us?”

I forced a weak smile. “They had something come up. Left early.”

He didn’t notice anything off. He grabbed his coat and went to settle the bill.

At a red light, he finally spoke up. “Char, what’s going on with you? You’ve looked utterly distracted since we left the restaurant..”

I put on a cheerful front and dodged. “Arthur, can we just go home?”

He slammed on the brakes, startled—then lit up. “You’re finally coming back for good? That’s great! I’m calling Mom and Dad right now.”

“Tell them to get your room ready again.”

“The Moore cirme family’s Principessa is finally coming home.”

“Whatever you want, you name it. You want a star hanging over your bed? I’ll get it for you.”

He kept rambling as he drove. “So, when do you want to move back?”

I looked at him uneasily. “Today. Is that too soon? Would it be a problem?”

He reached over and ruffled my hair. “Silly. A daughter coming home is never a problem.”

“Stop worrying. Hey—should we tell Leo?”

I shook my head lightly. “No need. It’s trivial stuff, no need to bother Leonardo over it.”

“He just started dating someone. I don’t want Elena to get the wrong idea.”

Arthur agreed easily and started talking about what new furniture to order for my room.

I turned toward the window and wiped my eyes before he could see.

The trees blurred past. I remembered that it was on a day just like this one that I’d first arrived at the Ferraro estate.

The Moore and Ferraro clans ruled adjacent cities, having long been at odds with each other. Once a truce was struck between our sides, my Godfather sent me to live with the Ferraros as their goddaughter—a sincere token of goodwill, serving as a living tie that linked the two clans.

It was only supposed to be for a few years, until relations settled. But I fell in love, so I kept finding reasons to stay.

Their estate was closer to my high school and university. Our families were about to deepen their business ties, and my presence as a symbol of peace made sense for me to remain a little longer.

Five years passed like that. Five years under the Ferraro roof.

When the car pulled up to the Ferraro estate, my face was already dry. Arthur hadn’t noticed a thing.

I jumped out lightly. “Wait for me. I’ll just grab my things.”

The garden was in disarray, gardeners scrambling everywhere. The butler looked uncomfortable when he saw me.

“Miss Moore… why have you returned so early?”

I was confused at first—until I spotted my luggage, dumped in a messy pile by the tool shed.

The butler hurried to explain. “Mr. Ferraro instructed us to move your things to the east wing. But the rooms there haven’t been finished yet, so we temporarily put them here.”

“Please rest for a moment. I’ll have the staff rush the work.”

Just when I thought my heart couldn’t hurt any more, it found a way.

I gave a bitter smile. “It’s alright. Don’t go out of your way for this.”

There was no point making things hard for them. They were only following Leonardo’s orders.
