Principeesa Is So Gorgeous, and She’s No Longer Yours Chapter 06

Loud whistles cut through the room.

“Hello yeah, Leo!”

“Total Leo move!”

I stood outside the door, my fingers squeezing the doorknob so hard my palm ached, yet I barely registered the pain.

A bitter, self-deprecating laugh tugged at my lips. Really, Charlotte? You’re being valued as nothing more than euros to him.

I drew in a deep breath, then pushed the door open sharply.

“Sorry I’m fashionably late, guys!”

The smirk on Leonardo’s face froze instantly.

No one else picked up on that microshift in his expression.

I refused to meet his gaze entirely, stopping to greet and make small talk with everyone else in the room.

A senior guy wandered over to chat me up. He started me off with fruit juice, but someone slipped a fruity cocktail into my hand soon after. I drank whatever was handed to me without hesitation, then moved on to straight liquor.

I lifted a glass, ready to toss back its contents in one gulp, only for a set of long, knuckled fingers to snatch it mid-air.

“Cut it out!”

“That’s straight whiskey—have you lost your mind?”

Leonardo’s tone was sharp and biting, unclear who he was snapping at.

The senior hitting on me froze up, forcing an awkward laugh and scratching the back of his neck.

“Uh, Leo, it’s dark in here—grabbed the wrong drink by accident…”

My vision was already swimming; I could swear I saw three versions of Leonardo standing in front of me.

Once, I would’ve been over the moon at the sight—three Leonardos, all mine to adore.

Now all I felt was nausea rising in my throat.

“Stay out of my business…” I slurred thickly.

I frowned and tried shoving him away, but he wouldn’t budge. Instead he wrapped his fingers around my wrist and hauled me flush against his chest.

“You can barely hold yourself up, quit acting tough!”

You couldn’t reason with a drunk person in front of a whole crowd, and Leonardo knew he couldn’t make a scene with me there.

Before anyone could react, I reached for another glass of whiskey and drained it down.

Leonardo gritted his teeth, furious.

“Charlotte, you’re always so well-behaved. Why are you acting out like this?”

I lurched forward like I was about to throw up, and he steadied me firmly, guiding me straight into the restroom.

He flagged down a passing server.

“Grab me a hot towel, please.”

I threw up relentlessly, and Leonardo rubbed slow circles on my back while trying to explain himself.

“I know you’re hurting. It’s not what it looks like between me and Elena. You gave me your first time, and I’m gonna step up and do right by you. I’ve gotten your room set up back at the Ferraro estate. Come on back once you’re done with your little tantrum.”

He opened his mouth to keep talking, but his phone started ringing.

Elena’s sobbing voice poured out through the speaker.

Leonardo’s face paled with alarm. He glanced back at me, clearly torn.

In the end, he turned and left anyway.

Before heading out, he phoned Arthur and asked him to come pick me up.

The server he’d tipped five hundred dollars stood by my side, steadying me as I waited by the curb for a ride.

The early spring night wind was sharp and piercing, clearing enough of my drunken haze for me to think straight.

I told the server he could head off now.

The young, baby-faced server shook his head firmly.

“He told me to wait till you’re in the car and send him proof photo.”

I pulled on a hollow smile, struck by Leonardo’s usual brand of misplaced thoughtfulness.

When I’d loved him, that attentiveness had felt like warm spring sunshine wrapping around me.

Now that my feelings were gone, every gesture just felt excessive and suffocating.

A black Bugatti pulled up to the curb, and the server’s jaw dropped in awe at the luxury car.

My head was still spinning from alcohol, but I could tell instantly the man behind the wheel wasn’t Arthur.

Arthur cut a decent enough figure and wasn’t ugly, but this man was strikingly more handsome.

He offered a faint, easy smile as he greeted me, a small diamond stud glinting in his left earlobe.

“Charlotte. I’m Kyson Sterling. Your brother asked me to swing by and pick you up tonight.”

The last fumes of my drunkenness vanished completely in an instant.

Kyson Sterling?

The guy my brother had been trying to set me up with?
