Pregnant, Panicked, and Chased by My CEO Husband Chapter 15

Gideon sent me a packet of powder.

He told me not to act rashly and to wait until he had gathered a group and brought them to my house before making a move against Finn.

The powder could make Finn sleep for days.

In truth, over the past few days, I had more or less guessed that Gideon wanted to eliminate Finn completely.

But I had no intention of doing that.

I called him.

“Uncle Gideon, I only need to break his tracking hold on me. I don’t want to kill him.”

He paused.

“All right. We’ll do it your way.”

On the video call, his face always gave me an indescribable feeling, as if he were both young and old at the same time.

He asked me to aim the camera at Finn.

Finn was washing dishes in the kitchen, humming softly.

“Aim it at his back,” Gideon said.

I did as he told me.

On his end, Gideon lifted an old scrying mirror and pointed it at the screen.

“There’s something behind him.”

I zoomed in, and a chill ran down my spine.

Behind Finn floated wave after wave of ghosts.

They were mangled and bloody, their faces impossible to make out.

Many had their intestines spilling out, their limbs torn or missing, their deaths so horrific I could hardly bear to look.

He was humming a sweet little song, yet his back carried the spirits of countless people who had died horribly.

Gideon said, “There are records of this too. He has done every evil imaginable and slaughtered countless living beings. The reason he was never caught after all these years is that he can pass perfectly as human.

“Wait two more days. I’ll gather a group, and we’ll deal with him together.”

I looked at Gideon through the screen and said calmly, “All right.”
