I took off my shoes, backed out on tiptoe, and fled to a hotel that same night to hide out and recover from the shock.

Back when the System told me its mission was complete, it said the Male and Female Leads would never be separated.

I thought it meant that in the romantic sense.

Only that day did I learn that getting eaten could also count as never being separated.

It meant literally becoming one body.

Finn had no idea he had been exposed, so he kept playing the part of my deeply devoted husband.

He thought I had lost my appetite and kept finding new ways to feed me delicious food.

For God’s sake, were you supernatural beings always this humane to your prey?

I refused to eat and lied that I was trying to lose weight.

Then that man looked at me with all the tenderness in the world.

“Baby, you look beautiful no matter what.”

Every time that happened, I noticed that his pupils were deeper and wider than an ordinary person’s.

When he stared at me, his eyes shone with a hungry gleam.

I could not help secretly wiping away tears.

Supernatural beings were all born actors, and they were much better than human men.

Finn committed to the act completely.

A cat did not eat the mouse right away. It had to have its fun first.

Finn was the same. He was playing with me.

Later, when he realized I was deliberately keeping my distance, he actually drugged me.

My guess was that if he went too long without drinking blood, animal traits would start showing on his body.

Twice, I fought hard to stay conscious and saw scales on his arms in the faint light. It scared me so badly that goose bumps rose all over my body.

Under the drug’s effect, my heart raced the moment I saw his face. My blood seemed to rush backward, and my whole body burned.

Then he sent me straight to heaven.

When he bit me, even that little sting from before disappeared. I sank completely into a pleasure so intense it felt almost dangerous.

Even through the haze, I could still hear the sweet nothings he murmured after he was satisfied.

“Baby, you’re so sweet.”

“Baby, I want to eat you up so badly.”

Oh my God, I nearly died on the spot.

The truth was, I did not exactly want to play along with Finn.

But he seemed to have a GPS tracker installed on me. Wherever I went, he somehow knew, so he never worried I would run.

The System said, “That’s just your little Male Lead and Female Lead kink.”

I was the mouse in the cat’s mouth. How could I not panic?
