Pregnant I Took a Bar Job and Heard My Husband Say He Gave Me 400000 Monthly Chapter 06

“Madison, I never knew about any of this. Jessica told me the work you were doing wasn’t suitable, so I put a

stop to it. But whenever you asked for more, I increased what I was sending you.”

I stared at him blankly.

So for the past year, none of my requests had ever actually reached Blake.

He fumbled for his phone, pulled up his transaction history, and handed it to me.

Every month, four hundred thousand dollars had been transferred from his private account into a dedicated account managed by the company. The transfers had continued for an entire year without interruption.

The latest transfer had been made the night before: one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

The note contained only one sentence:

For Madison’s personal use.

As I stared at the enormous discrepancy between our two sets of records, my breathing quickened.

So there really was another explanation for everything I had been through over the past year.

Blake took my trembling hand.

“I’ll get to the bottom of this. I’ll find out exactly what’s been going on.”

His expression hardened as he called Jessica.

“Get to the hospital. Now.”

Less than an hour later, Jessica walked into the room in high heels.

Blake placed both sets of transaction records in front of her.

“I’ve been transferring four hundred thousand dollars every month. So why has my wife only been getting

one hundred and twenty?”

Panic flashed through Jessica’s eyes, but she quickly regained her composure.

“Mr Harrison, I think you’ve misunderstood. The hundred and twenty dollars was just emergency cash paid directly to Miss Carter. Her clothes, jewellery, food and transport all came out of the dedicated account.”

She pulled up what she claimed was a monthly expense report.

Designer handbags, fifty thousand dollars.

Custom gowns, one hundred and twenty thousand dollars.

Private club expenses, one hundred thousand dollars.

Beauty and styling services, eighty thousand dollars.

Every payment had been made from the dedicated account and labelled as one of Madison Carter’s living

expenses.

Jessica spoke with complete confidence, as though there were nothing unusual about any of it.

“Her spending has always been excessive, and I reported every one of these expenses to you. I’ve worked for the group for three years without a single issue. Are you really accusing me of this based on her word

alone?”

Blake took the tablet and went through the transactions one by one.

His gaze stopped on the private club charge.

Jack’s earlier suspicion had clearly stuck with him.

Blake opened the details and turned the screen towards Jessica.

“What’s this charge?”

Jessica glanced at it, her voice taking on a wounded edge.

“That was the day Miss Carter said she was pregnant and needed money for medical expenses. She came to

the office several times asking for a transfer. I reported it to you. In the end, I had no choice but to approve it.

I certainly didn’t expect the money to show up later as a private-club charge.”

She deliberately kept her explanation vague, clearly trying to shift the blame onto me.

But that was the same day I had gone for my examination.

The baby I was carrying was the clearest proof that I hadn’t lied about being pregnant.

Blake’s expression turned grave.

“So you’re saying she used the pregnancy as an excuse to get more than a hundred thousand dollars out of

the account?”

“And the hundred and fifty thousand from last night? You’re saying she spent that as well?”

Jessica’s expression stiffened slightly, but her answer remained steady.

“Yes, Mr Harrison.”

Blake turned and looked at me.

I knew he had already begun to understand the truth.

I opened my own spending records and held the screen in front of Jessica.

“You say I spend huge amounts every month. How did you decide any of those purchases were mine?”

“Did you ever actually see me at that private club? Were you with me when I supposedly bough clothes and handbags?”
