I had already written the IOU at the hospital.

On the drive back, I held it out to Ethan, but he refused to take it.

It was the one Vanessa had taken earlier that day.

“When was this taken?”

I showed just enough surprise to make him believe me.

“Why do you have a picture of me?”

Ethan stared at me.

“My online girlfriend sent it to me.”

“Your online girlfriend…”

I repeated the words under my breath. Then, as though something had suddenly occurred to me, I raised a hand to cover my mouth.

Ethan’s fir scent instantly intensified, and his Alpha pressure filled the space around us.

“What do you know?”

I deliberately hesitated for a long time before telling him that all three of my roommates were dating men online.

“Sophia took this picture of me yesterday. She likes taking pictures of me.”

In reality, Vanessa was the one who most often made up excuses to photograph me.

Claire usually stole pictures from my social media pages.

Sophia went even further. She used AI face-swapping software to create photos and videos. She had even used my face during video calls with her online boyfriend.

I never directly accused anyone, but I deliberately made Sophia look like the prime suspect.

The comments before my eyes immediately began scrolling faster, every single one of them cursing me.

Meanwhile, Ethan’s expression grew darker by the second.

The comments said he would eventually fall in love with Sophia too.

Then I would make sure they lost the chance to take their relationship any further before it could even begin.
