My Sister Wanted The God, I Got The Beast In Bed Chapter 08

The smile fell off Valerie’s face. “You’re lying!” she shrieked. “You’re lying!”

“Gideon loves me! I’m his wife!”

She whipped around toward Gideon, and the desperation in her eyes was raw. “Tell me she’s lying,

Gideon. Tell me I’m your queen.”

The black dragon laughed – a low, grinding sound. One enormous claw shot out and closed around

Valerie like a cage.

“Queen?” Gideon’s contempt echoed off the mountains. “You think you’re worthy of that?”

“Your flesh and your soul are fuel for my Ascension.” His golden eyes bore down on her. “Being consumed by me is the only glory you’ll ever know.”

Valerie’s pupils went wide. The light behind her eyes didn’t fade something shattering from the inside.

it broke, piece by piece, like

“No… no…” Valerie’s voice came out small and cracked. “I was reborn… I was supposed to be chosen… this isn’t how it’s supposed to go, this isn’t-”

Gideon didn’t wait for her to finish. He surged upward, Valerie crushed in his claw, and shot toward the Divine Gates before they closed for good.

Valerie’s scream tore through the sky – raw and ragged and endless.

“Flora Avery! Save me! Please, save me!” Her voice was barely human. “I was wrong

SAVE ME!”

I stood in the courtyard of Peach Blossom Vale and watched. The wind caught the hem of my dress.

“It’s too late.” My voice came out quiet.

“This is the path you chose, Valerie. And hell’s already opened its doors.”

The Divine Gates slammed shut. The black dragon and Valerie vanished.

Obsidian Crest went silent. Nothing remained but the faint smell of blood on the wind.

Gideon had ascended. No one cheered.

They’d all seen it. Their so-called Divine Lord had fed on his own wife to claw his way to godhood.

The Clan Patriarch – the same man who used to bring up Gideon’s name at every opportunity – sat trembling, quietly shoving the lineage scrolls under his chair.

Obsidian Crest became a forbidden land.

Our quiet life in Peach Blossom Vale went on as before, except that Julian looked at me with fiercer devotion every day-like he wanted to fold me up small and carry me in his pocket.

One month later, Peach Blossom Vale descended into absolute chaos.

In the birthing room, the healer stared at the basin of hot water, her hands trembling so hard the water sloshed. “Master Julian… they just… they keep…” She couldn’t finish a sentence.

Eight. There were exactly eight. I collapsed against the pillows, head spinning, watching tiny ribbon-thin babies wriggle across every surface in the room.

The healer hadn’t been exaggerating. A whole litter. Seven were pure white. One was patterned.

They had serpent bodies, but every little snake head sprouted two long, pink, impossibly soft rabbit ears. Their eyes were mine – bright red, like tiny gemstones.

They didn’t flick their tongues like serpents. Instead, their little cleft lips twitched nonstop, nibbling on everything in reach.

Julian was beside himself.

The man saw absolutely nothing unusual about half-rabbit half-serpent babies. He wanted to drape every tree in Peach Blossom Vale with red silk to celebrate.

He was leaning over the edge of the bed, covered from head to toe in baby serpents, all tangling themselves into knots.

Two were coiled around his neck, one on each wrist, and the little patterned one had claimed the top of his head.

“Darling, look — the eldest is nuzzling! She already knows how to nuzzle!” Julian was practically vibrating. “And the third one takes after me – see how the tip of his tail is bare?”

I rolled over and buried my face in the pillow. I didn’t have the heart to tell him the third one wasn’t

“naturally bare” – the second one had bitten the tip off during a fight over milk five minutes ago.

Julian’s magical power had always been modest, but his talent for fatherhood was apparently god-given.

His diaper changes were surgical. The milk was always at the perfect temperature. He could rock three cradles at once with the tip of his tail.

For the first time in either of my lives, I had absolutely nothing to do but eat, sleep, and eat again.
