Fallon was sitting out on the balcony, the wind toying with her red hair.

“Could you two stop acting like I’m not here?”

“I’m single. That doesn’t mean I want to watch this.”

As soon as she said it, Conrad and I both laughed.

Meanwhile, Orion and Chiara were lying in the emergency room.

Orion was the first to be wheeled out.

His face was a frightening shade of pale.

The bone in his leg had just been set and was still unstable; any emotional outburst sent fresh waves of pain through him.

“How is Chiara?”

“Mr. DeLuca, her condition is not good.”

“She needed more than a dozen stitches on her face.”

“Damn it.”

“Find Estelle Hayes. Now.”

“I’m going to make her pay for what happened today.”

“Ah! It hurts.”

“Mr. DeLuca, please, you need to calm down.”

“You just had the fixation procedure.”

“How am I supposed to calm down?”

“Estelle Hayes did this to us.”

“If I don’t find her, I’ll never be able to live this down.”

As soon as he finished speaking, members of the DeLuca and Ricci families arrived at the hospital.

“Orion.”

“How is my daughter?”

Mr. DeLuca and Mr. Ricci both looked grim.

“I’m fine.”

“Chiara is worse.”

Mr. Ricci’s face darkened. Mrs. Ricci had already burst into tears.

“Who did this?”

“Find out.”

“It was Estelle Hayes.”

“Her?”
