My Husband Fell for My Would-Be Killer Chapter 04

My Husband Fell for My Would-Be Killer Chapter 04

After we returned from the mall, I didn’t see Roman again. It was as if he’d forgotten I existed.

Every now and then, though, I’d come across news about their wedding of the century-how

extravagant it would be and how much Roman had spent on it.

Finally, the wedding day arrived.

Early that morning, a group of men flooded into the house. Each wore the black lion crest on his

arm, making it obvious they were Bellacorte Family men.

But none of them recognized me.

Before I could say a word, someone seized my shoulder and slammed me down against the table.

“Does Roman Ardizzone know you’re laying hands on me?” I asked the man in charge, perfectly

calm.

He gave me a contemptuous smile. “Mr. Ardizzone is busy marrying our Principessa. I doubt he has

time to worry about you.”

I twisted my wrist and used the moment he was talking to break free.

I was Bellacorte’s Principessa. I’d been put through rigorous training since childhood.

But after being unconscious for so long, my body was still far too weak.

Within seconds, they had me pinned down again.

My voice turned hard. “I’m warning you. I’m the Principessa of Bellacorte Family. If you touch me

The man cut me off with a vicious slap across the face.

He stared at me with open hatred.

“You? A Principessa?”

“Keep dreaming. Noemi Bellacorte is Bellacorte’s only rightful heir!”

She was Bellacorte’s heir?

Even Massimo, the Underboss, wouldn’t dare publicly claim that title.

These clueless idiots had swallowed Normi’s lies whole.

I licked the blood from the corner of my mouth and couldn’t even be bothered to correct them.

The man seemed pleased by my apparent submission. He tossed a document down in front of me,

“Sign it.”

It was a divorce agreement, and Roman had already signed his part.

My lips curled into a mocking smile.

“You brought all these men here for this?”

His face twisted with disgust.

“If you hadn’t kept clinging to Mr. Ardizzone, the Principessa wouldn’t have had to keep dealing with you.”

“sign it, and I’ll let you live,”

I didn’t hesitate. I signed my name,

“Done. Take it back. You got what you came for.”

But after collecting the divorce papers, he made no move to call his men off.

Instead, he pulled out a knife, a cruel smile spreading across his face.

“I misspoke. Sign it, and you’ll die in one piece.”

I stayed perfectly calm as he came toward me.

Just before the blade reached my throat, the front door was kicked open from outside.

I seized the opening, flipped him over my shoulder, and slammed him onto the floor. Then I returned his slap with one of my own.

I smiled faintly.

“You ever heard of shooting fish in a barrel?”

Once the small fry were dealt with, I turned to Bellacorte’s soldiers and gave the order.

“Let’s go. We’re heading to the wedding.”

“Time to deal with Bellacorte’s traitors.”
