My Dad Chose My Aunt 10 Times, Unaware I Stripped His Billion Legacy Chapter 05

“…What did you just say? Who died?”

The front door stood wide

open.

Nathaniel stared blankly at Arthur Whitmore, the current family head.

His voice was thick with disbelief-and a reflexive edge of irritation.

“Grandpa, did Eliza pull something again? Don’t let her fool you!”

Fiona’s eyes flickered.

She chimed in, her voice soft and frail.

“Yeah. Eliza was perfectly fine at the hospital. How could anything have happened to her…”

Under Arthur’s cold stare, her voice faded to nothing. He looked at her like she was already gone.

Nathaniel pressed his lips together and shielded Fiona behind him.

“Grandpa, Fiona’s right.”

“Eliza’s greedy and vain. She’d even use a child to get what she wanted.”

“There’s no way she’d just… die.”

He let out a cold snort.

The disgust in his eyes deepened.

“I never should’ve gone easy on her.”

Disappointment flashed through Arthur’s eyes.

He slammed his cane against the marble floor.

Then, bodyguards carried in a charred corpse.

Nathaniel frowned in disgust and laughed mockingly.

“Grandpa, don’t tell me you’re saying that’s her..”

“She’s live streaming an apology right now. How could she possibly-”

The words died in his throat.

His face went slack-then fear ripped across it.

“Wait…”

His body trembled as he rushed toward the corpse.

His gaze landed on the butterfly birthmark on her exposed wrist-half burned away.

“E-Eliza…”

His fingers brushed aside the scorched hair covering her face.

The moment he saw her pale face and tightly shut eyes, something slammed heavily into his chest.

Pain exploded through his head.

“No-no… How could this happen?!”

Fiona covered her mouth.

She suppressed the wild glee in her eyes, forcing her face into a mask of devastation.

“Oh my God… Eliza… What happened? How could this happen to you…”

Nathaniel didn’t respond.

He collapsed to the floor and clutched Eliza’s body tightly against his chest.

“R-Right… Get a doctor. Someone get a doctor!”

Arthur’s gaze went cold. His cane swung down again-this time across Nathaniel’s back.

Nathaniel grunted, cold sweat beading on his forehead.

Then Arthur’s deep voice rang out.

“She’s dead! Nathaniel, do you have even a shred of dignity left as heir to this family?”

Nathaniel cradled her cold body. His gaze was somewhere far away, fixed on nothing.

“But… I promised I’d marry her…”

“That’s it- I need to marry her.”

“She must be angry I married Fiona. That’s why she won’t wake up.”

“I’ll divorce Fiona-right now!”

Arthur let out a cold, incredulous laugh.

His cane came crashing down once more.

This time it split Nathaniel’s forehead open.

Blood streamed down his face as he crashed onto the floor.

Arthur studied at Nathaniel’s expression. His voice sharpened.

“You want to marry her? Have you forgotten the family charter?”

“Choose the same woman ten times in a row at the Heir’s Match Gala-and divorce is forbidden.

Forever.”

His voice dropped lower. Even colder.

“You’ve already married her. There’s no turning back-so put that thought out of your mind.”

Nathaniel froze. His mind went completely blank.

His lips trembled. “I… I…”

After returning to the family as sole heir, he’d thrown himself into the first Heir’s Match Gala, wanting to pave the way for Eliza to join the family.

He’d been running nonstop between the company and the estate.

That day, he had been hurrying home, filled with excitement.

Then Victor, whom he’d personally sent to prison, nearly took him out.

Fiona had thrown herself in front of him without hesitation.

She had blocked the steel pipe meant for his head.

The scene looked exactly like the blurry memory he had of Eliza protecting him years ago.

Suspicion had taken root.

Later, he heard Victor’s own confession while the man lay battered and bloodied.

“I should’ve killed that bitch sooner! She kept ruining my plans over and over again!”

That was when Nathaniel learned the truth.

The person who had rescued him and cared for him all those years ago had been Fiona.

The moment he learned the truth, rage consumed him-rage at being deceived, disgust at what he believed was Eliza’s true nature.

And beneath it all, his heart ached for Fiona.

She had loved him silently, protected him in secret, too afraid of her sister to ever speak up.

Love twisted into hatred.

Hatred mixed with the anticipation of punishment.

He couldn’t let go of Eliza.

Yet he couldn’t forgive what he thought was the lie that started everything.

Back then, Fiona leaned against his chest and said softly, “I don’t want anything.”

“But tomorrow is the Heir’s Match Gala. Eliza has lied to you for so long. That’s just too much.”

She lowered her head, feigning unease.

“If you want to get back at her, I can help.”

“Don’t worry. I won’t ask for anything in return…”

As his fingers brushed her soft cheek, a reckless idea entered his mind.

He decided to choose Fiona at the Heir’s Match Gala.

Later, in the lounge, he indulged himself with Fiona without restraint.

He had wanted to watch Eliza’s gentle expression finally shatter.

To see her lose control. To see her break.

But he had never imagined that the woman he’d spend the rest of his life with wouldn’t be Eliza.

Arthur watched Nathaniel clutching the body, utterly lost.

After a long silence, he sighed.

Then he shook his head and walked out of the villa.

Arthur didn’t close his eyes or speak until his executive assistant broke the silence from the front

seat.

“The family’s heir…”

“Time for a new one.”
