My Dad Chose My Aunt 10 Times, Unaware I Stripped His Billion Legacy Chapter 01

My Dad Chose My Aunt 10 Times, Unaware I Stripped His Billion Legacy Chapter 01

Mom came from another world.

The System told her the mission would only be complete once she legally married Dad.

But even seven years after they had me, Mom still never got the marriage certificate she was promised.

By then, Dad’s family had already pulled him back and named him heir to one of the most powerful families in the country.

Instead, at the tenth Heir’s Match Gala, Dad once again passed over Mom’s frail, bony hand and chose Mom’s sister, Fiona Bennett.

Just like he had the previous nine times.

Meeting Mom’s stunned gaze, he merely smiled, indifferent.

“You took credit for saving my life, cashing in on it for

years.

“Consider these ten weddings compensation for her. Stop fighting it.”

Under Whitmore family charter, if the heir named the same woman ten times in a row, formally recognized as his bride. Not even death could break that tie.

But this time, Mom didn’t argue.

Even when Fiona waved her marriage certificate around in triumph, Mom didn’t throw a hysterical

fit like she had before.

Instead, she calmly took my hand and sat down with me among the guests.

Dad smiled in satisfaction.

“Looks like that year in the slums finally taught you and Vivienne some manners.”

“You did well by not causing a scene this time. Next time, I’ll definitely choose you.”

The crowd burst into laughter.

But I was the only one who heard the crackling electronic voice beside my ear.

[Request approved.]

[All assets belonging to the infertile male lead will be transferred to the host’s designated beneficiary.]

[Host departure in three days. Death mandatory.]

[Asset binding confirmed: Vivienne Whitmore, the male lead’s only child.]

[Transfer effective immediately upon host’s world exit.]

As the final electronic notification faded away, the wedding ceremony onstage reached its

conclusion.

Dad and Fiona exchanged rings.

Like the prince and princess from the fairy tales Mom used to read to me, they wrapped their arms

around each other and smiled.

I pressed myself tightly against Mom. My fingers clung to her icy hand.

All around us, amid the cheers, people kept stealing mocking glances at us.

“Isn’t that the one who lied about saving Mr. Whitmore’s life and climbed her way up by stepping

on her own sister?”

“You really can’t judge a book by its cover. She looks innocent, but she’s incredibly calculating.”

“Good thing Mr. Whitmore found out the truth.”

“Everyone knows he’s obsessed with Fiona. Just yesterday he dropped a fortune on jewelry for her.”

My gaze shifted from Mom’s tightly pressed lips to Fiona’s radiant smile.

I tugged at my faded white shirt.

The unfairness stung.

Because I had heard the truth from that thing attached to her

the System.

The person who had risked everything to save Dad while his rival Victor Blackwell’s men were hunting him down was Mom.

Even when she was eight months pregnant, she had thrown herself in front of a knife meant for

Dad.

That was why I had been born weak and sick.

Dad had sworn to give Mom the best life possible.

From that day on, he fought tooth and nail to climb higher.

So when he was finally reclaimed by the Whitmore family, he wasted no time announcing the first

Heir’s Match Gala.

Everyone assumed he was paving the way for such an ordinary girl like Mom to marry into the

Whitmore family.

“How lucky she was,” they all said.

But on the day Mom dressed up for that first wedding ceremony, she walked into a private lounge

and found Fiona straddling Dad’s lap.

That day, Mom completely broke down.

She cried until her voice gave out and destroyed everything in the room.

The warmth in Dad’s eyes only disappeared when Mom nearly struck Fiona.

His expression instantly turned cold.

Without hesitation, he shoved Mom away.

His face didn’t shift until blood began spreading beneath her white wedding gown.

Afterward, Mom lost the baby.

She fell into such despair that she nearly died.

Dad had stayed beside her hospital bed and begged for forgiveness again and again.

He promised he knew he was wrong.

He promised he would choose her at the next Gala.

But he broke that promise. Again. And again.

By the ninth gala, it was worse.

Fiona tearfully claimed Mom had mocked her, saying she was a nobody trying to marry above he station.

Without a second thought, Dad banished us to the slums.

For a year, he made our lives a living hell.

The medicine that was supposed to keep me alive was cut off completely.

My body couldn’t survive without it.

So Mom gritted her teeth and worked herself to exhaustion.

She ended up as a lab rat for underground drug trials. She even sold her blood.

For years, I thought Dad had just moved on. That he forgot his promises. Forgot everything Mom

did for him.

But now I understood.

In his mind, the woman he owed everything to had changed long ago.

And all those vows of eternal love he’d once whispered to Mom-he’d given them to Fiona instead.

By the time the reception ended, steady rain was falling outside The Grand Aster Ballroom.

Half the guests had already left.

Mom and I stood beneath the entrance canopy waiting for a car.

Suddenly, a shadow fell across us.

It was Dad.

Seeing the hesitation in his eyes, I remembered how he used to be–how he used to treat us.

For a moment, hope flickered inside me.

I gathered my courage.

“Dad, Mom was really the one who saved

But Fiona suddenly interrupted with a gasp.

“Eliza, you must still be upset about that year in the slums.”

“But surely you don’t mean to attend an event dressed like this?”

The trace of sympathy in Dad’s eyes vanished. Only annoyance remained.

“Eliza, enough with the pathetic theatrics. Don’t drag Vivienne into your little pity games.

I shrank back-but I still forced myself to speak up for Mom.

“N-No, Dad, listen to me! Mom’s going home! And Aunt Fiona is lying-”

“That’s enough, Vivi.” Mom cut me off.

Her eyes were empty as she looked at Dad.

“You said if I showed up at one more Gala, you’d give me Vivienne’s medicine.”

“Where is it?”
