My Classmate Bragged About Her Dad’s Yacht, Unaware My Mom Paid for It Chapter 07

The yacht’s engine roared, cutting a wide arc across the water before it suddenly turned around.

Jasmine screamed and struggled.

“What are you doing? Let go of my dad! Let me go!”

“This is kidnapping. Once we get back to the marina, I’m calling the police on all of you!”

I looked down at her.

“Good. Once we dock, make sure you don’t forget.”

The yacht sliced through the waves at full speed and pulled into the marina half an hour later.

The moment the engine shut off, the atmosphere on the deck became suffocating.

Three SUVs were already parked by the dock.

My mother, Lana Shaw, stood in front of them wearing a perfectly tailored beige trench coat and sunglasses.

Behind her stood a line of bodyguards in suits and two attorneys carrying briefcases.

The second the gangway was lowered, Gregory broke free from the bodyguards and scrambled down it in a panic.

“Lana! Lana, listen to me!”

His face was plastered with a desperate smile as he tried to step

forward and take my mother’s hand.

“This really is all a misunderstanding. Chloe is stubborn, and she had a little argument with her classmates.”

“We’re all family. Why make such a huge scene over this?”

My mother took off her sunglasses and backhanded Gregory hard across the face.

The blow was so forceful that Gregory staggered and fell straight to the ground.

Blood seeped through the gaps between his teeth.

“Family?”

My mother’s voice was as cold as ice.

“Gregory, you used my money to support another woman and her child, and you still dare talk to me about family?”

Jasmine, who had followed us off the yacht, saw what happened and charged over like she had lost her mind.

She shoved my mother away and spread her arms in front of Gregory to protect him.

“What gives you the right to hit my dad?”

“Who do you think you are? You’re just some rich bitch with a little money.”

“I’ll have you know my dad is the CEO of Lynn Group. If you dare touch him, you’re done.”

Even now, Jasmine was still trapped in the fantasy Gregory had built for her.

I walked off the yacht slowly and stood beside my mother.

“Lynn Group?”

“That crappy company your father used to own went bankrupt ten years ago when its cash flow collapsed.”

“If my mother hadn’t taken pity on him back then, bought out his company, and let him marry into the Shaw family, the two of you would be begging under an overpass right now.”

Jasmine’s whole body shook, and her face turned deathly pale.

“You’re lying. You’re lying to me.”

She whipped around to look at Gregory and shook his shoulders frantically.

“Dad, say something. Tell them this is our company.”

“Our family is rich. We have tons of money. We don’t have to depend on this woman’s favor.”

Gregory covered his face and could not say a single word.

The disguise he had always been so proud of was torn apart in that moment.

Back then, he had indeed been a somewhat successful entrepreneur. He was quick-minded and ruthless when he needed to be.

But he was too hungry for fast success. He expanded too

aggressively, and the whole thing collapsed.

My mother had seen that he still had some ability, so she took him in and gave him a nominal vice president position at Shaw Group.

All these years, he had been constrained at every turn inside the company. On the surface, he acted obedient and submissive toward my mother, but deep down, he was desperate to prove himself.

Behind my mother’s back, he kept a mistress on the side and had Jasmine with her.

Using the Shaw family’s money, he bought Jasmine designer goods, sent her to an elite private school, and built her a fake image as a top-tier trust-fund princess.

He thought that as long as he quietly built up his own power, he would one day sideline my mother and take the entire Shaw family fortune for himself.
