My Cheating Boyfriend Thought I Was Obedient—So I Married Someone Else Chapter 11

Tate Coleman stared at Elara’s resignation letter. He wasn’t sure what to do with it.

He thought it over. Then dialed the number.

He told him what happened.

Kael listened on the other end. After a long pause, he scoffed. “She treats that job like her baby.

There’s no way she’d quit.”

Tate scratched his head and chose his words carefully. “So the process… do I approve it or not?”

Something in that question hit a nerve. Kael started cussing.

“Approve it. Hell yes, approve it. If she wants to quit, let her quit. Finally quit that garbage job.”

“What kind of joke company do you run? Ever since she started working for you, ‘she’s never home for three days straight. Dresses like a homeless person. Do you even know how to manage?”

Tate hung up. He thought to himself, Elara was one of the most put-together people in his office. Light makeup every day. Little heels.

Kael should come see the rest of them. Skirts over sweatpants. Socks with sandals.

These rich people. Completely unhinged. Some billionaire’s woman grinding away in his tiny company like an ox. Treating life like a social experiment.

He threw his phone down and pointed at it. “Lunatic!”

Then he glanced at Elara’s desk. Fair was fair. “You. You’re also nuts.”

He didn’t hesitate. He signed off on her resignation.

A shame, really. She was one of his best. Top-tier skills.

But Kael had given the word. So he followed orders.

Kael didn’t find out Elara had left Manhattan until two weeks later.

His pen paused mid-signature. He didn’t look up. “Let her leave if she wants. What? You think I can’t live without her?”

Jax made a noise. “I mean-no—”

“So she’s got fair skin. Big round eyes. That tiny mole. Slim waist, long legs.” Kael lifted his chin. “She’s also boring as hell. Women like her are everywhere. You really think I’m hung up on her?”

Jax crossed his arms and gave him a long look.

He rubbed his chin. A dime a dozen? That easy to find?
