Security guards had already swarmed in and were pulling him off the stage.

As he stood there dazed, his phone suddenly vibrated with a message from Sophia.

Jake stared at the screen, and his fingers began to tremble.

How could it be the address of his and Emma’s apartment?

That didn’t make sense.

She wasn’t pregnant. Why would she buy a crib?

In that instant, something clicked into place in his mind.

Jake’s legs gave way. He grabbed the wall to keep from falling to his knees.

So while he was throwing her away, someone else had been right there to catch her.

He spun around and tried to run back. “Emma! Come out here! Talk to me!”

Megan was standing in front of him. He hadn’t noticed when she appeared.

“How long are you going to keep making a fool of yourself here?”

Megan let out a cold laugh. “Oh, you know it’s been three years?”
