Luna Returned for Vengeance Chapter 11

Luna Returned for Vengeance Chapter 11

Nora’s POV

“Ethan?”

Lucian’s hands, which had been wandering over my waist, stopped instantly. The next second, he let out a cold laugh.

“What’s he doing here? Does he think tossing out last-minute evidence earns him any credit? I could have dug all that up without him.”

His voice was dripping with jealousy. I couldn’t help but smile.

“Looks like someone’s jealous.”

Lucian narrowed his eyes. “Why wouldn’t I be? Your ex-boyfriend showed up at our door. Am I supposed to cheer him on for it?”

His face soured more and more as he spoke. I wrapped my arms around him and nuzzled against his

chest.

“Relax. I won’t change how I see him just because he finally did one right thing.”

His expression softened slightly, but he still sounded sulky.

“Who knows. First loves have a lingering hold on people. What if he gets on his knees and

apologizes, and you end up forgiving him?”

I laughed out loud.

“Mr. Vale. Are you really that unsure of yourself?”

Lucian pulled me closer and buried his face in my neck, his voice muffled.

“It’s not insecurity. I just care about you too much.”

My heart melted. I patted his back gently.

“I still need to see him.”

Lucian’s head shot up immediately.

“No. Absolutely not. You’re definitely going to run back to Ethan, aren’t you?”

He put on a devastated look.

“It’s over. Nora doesn’t want me anymore. You’re just going to reconcile with Ethan, aren’t you?”

Then he actually turned and started to walk away. Torn between exasperation and amusement, I grabbed his arm.

“Lucian Vale!”

He kept his back to me, his voice low and pitiful.

“Don’t touch me. I’m just a neglected, unloved wolf now.”

I didn’t know what else to do. I stood on my tiptoes and kissed him on the lips.

“Don’t read too much into this. I just feel like some things need closure. I don’t have feelings for him anymore. I mean it.”

Lucian looked down at me, clearly still unhappy. I kept coaxing him.

“Besides, my heart is completely yours now. There’s no room for anyone else.”

His expression finally softened a little. But he still asked, deliberately:

“Really?”

I nodded. “Really.”

Lucian was quiet for two seconds. Then he leaned down and bit my lip lightly. His voice dropped to a

low, rough murmur.

“You’ll have to make it up to me once you’re back.”

My ears went hot. “Make it up how?”

He pressed his mouth to my ear and whispered a few words. My face burned bright red.

“Lucian!”

He finally smiled. His mood was clearly much better. But he still held my hand and kissed it again and again, reluctant to let me go.

“Go on then. But don’t linger with him.. I’ll get jealous.”

Ethan was waiting in the reception room. The moment I walked in, he stood up instantly.

In just a few days, he looked exhausted. His eyes were bloodshot. The way he looked at me was anxious and earnest-nothing like the cold, aloof expression he used to wear.

“Nora…”

I didn’t say anything. I just sat down quietly across from him.

Ethan’s eyes turned red.

“I’m sorry. I really didn’t know… I had no idea the Langs kept hurting you after all that. If I’d known, I would have stopped all of it.”

His voice cracked.

“I’ve handed the evidence to the Pack Precinct. Sophie got the punishment she deserved. Nora, can you… can you forgive me?”

I looked at him quietly.

I felt nothing. That was what surprised me most. Sophie got the punishment she deserved.-now sitting here, humbly begging for my forgiveness-and all I felt was boredom.

I spoke softly.

“I will never forgive you.”

Ethan’s face went white.

I continued. “I agreed to see you today because I wanted to ask you one question. It’s just closure

for that ridiculous first love of mine.”

Ethan stared at me, his voice rough.

“Go ahead. Ask me anything.”

I looked at him. Finally, I asked the question that had been buried in my heart for

years.

“Back then, when you protected Sophie like that—was it really just because her brother saved your life? Ethan. While you were with me… did you ever have feelings for her?”
