His Dead Lover Came Back I Asked for Overtime Pay Chapter 13

His Dead Lover Came Back I Asked for Overtime Pay Chapter 13

With the unlimited black card, I felt like I was walking on air.

For three years, to portray Lynn – that aloof, gentle “first love” – my wardrobe had been full of muted whites, beiges, and greys.

Wearing those clothes felt like being in shackles. Now with a new script, I was ready to let loose.

I headed to the most upscale luxury mall in Seattle.

In a designer boutique, I fell in love with a burgundy velvet backless gown.

“Miss Parker, you have great taste. This is a limited edition – the only one in Seattle.”

The sales associate eagerly took the dress off the rack.

I was about to go to the fitting room when a sarcastic voice came from behind.

“I’ll take this dress.” I turned around.

Small world. Lynn Moore, in her high heels, flanked by a few socialite friends, looked down at me.

“Miss Moore, but this young lady was here first…” The associate looked flustered.

“So what if she likes it? Can she afford it?” One of Lynn’s friends shot me a contemptuous glance.

“Isn’t this the stand-in that Zachary used to keep? I heard she’s climbed the social ladder, but she still looks

so cheap.”

Lynn elegantly swept her hair aside.

“Chloe, even if you sold every handbag Zachary gave you, you probably couldn’t afford this dress. Know your

place. Don’t think wearing designer clothes can cover up that cheap vibe.”

In the past, to keep my innocent image, I would have held back tears.

But now I was a top-tier mercenary with a black card. I chuckled, pulled out the card, and handed it to the

associate.

“Wrap it up.” I didn’t even glance at Lynn.

“And bring out all the jewelry that matches this dress. Put today’s purchases on Mr. Collins’s account.”

The associate’s eyes went wide.

She beamed and gestured me forward. “Of course, Miss Parker. Right this way.”

Lynn’s expression turned grim.

She recognized that card – the master card of the head of Collins Group.

Ethan actually gave it to me.

“Don’t get too cocky,” Lynn hissed. “Ethan is just looking for a fling. Once he gets bored, you’ll still be kicked

to the curb.”

I took the glass of champagne the associate handed me, took a sip, and smiled. “Miss Moore is right – you can’t rely on your looks forever. That’s why I need to cash in while the boss is still willing to spend. As for

you – letting a golden opportunity slip by to fight over clothes with a gold-digger? Don’t you think that’s beneath you?”

“You!” Lynn was trembling with rage.

I ignored her and walked into the VIP fitting room. Driving the first love crazy – extra ten grand on my bonus.
