He Used His Secret Mistress for Revenge Chapter 05 The Lie He Chose Again

Lucia stumbled back two steps after Vito threw her aside.

Anger and panic twisted together inside her.

She continued whispering poison into his ear, insisting that I had staged my death to manipulate him.

The guests’ voices grew steadily louder.

By now, everyone understood what was happening.

Vito tightened his grip on the letter and remembered the hidden cameras throughout his mansion.

He had installed them to capture more intimate footage of me.

His plan had been to save the recordings for the alliance wedding and use them to disgrace my father.

After sensing that something was wrong, I had searched the rooms one by one.

I found cameras concealed behind paintings and inside table lamps.

From that day forward, I never voluntarily entered Vito’s mansion again.

He had not cared at the time.

Only now did he understand that I had already begun protecting myself from him.

Vito took out his private phone and opened the screenshots Lucia had sent him.

They contained every message she had deliberately used to provoke me.

I had never answered with a single cruel word.

I had silently swallowed every insult and humiliation.

Vito held the phone in front of Lucia.

His voice was cold enough to cut through bone.

“Explain these messages. Why did you deliberately provoke her?”

Lucia’s face turned white.

She instinctively retreated before quickly arranging her features into a wounded, helpless expression.

“Vito, I was only afraid she wouldn’t attend the wedding and all the work we put into the plan would be wasted. I was testing her. I never intended to drive her to her death.”

“Testing her? You were pushing her toward the edge.”

The anger Vito had suppressed finally exploded.

He hurled the phone onto the floor.

The screen shattered, and fragments scattered across the marble.

Lucia flinched violently.

Her eyes immediately reddened.

She reached for his sleeve, but Vito moved away from her.

“Don’t touch me.”

Lucia still refused to admit fault.

Finished

“You can’t start feeling sorry for Laila because of one plane crash and forget that Mario forced us apart for years. Everything happened because of him. Besides, the news only said the plane went down. They haven’t recovered an intact body. Who can prove she’s dead? Maybe she and Mario staged the whole thing to ruin our marriage.”

Her words struck the last trace of hope hidden inside Vito.

He had always believed that I lived and breathed for him.

I would never leave him easily.

I certainly would not be capable of planning my own disappearance.

Lucia’s suggestion made him waver immediately.

He nodded.

“You’re right. This was probably a trap Laila and Mario arranged together. If I find Mario, he’ll tell me where she really is.”

Vito turned and strode out of the banquet hall, completely ignoring the bride waiting behind him.

Lucia called his name loudly.

He never slowed.

He entered his car and drove straight toward the hospital.

The guests left behind erupted into open discussion.

“Wasn’t this the marriage Vito had wanted for years? Why would he abandon his bride?

“We’ve heard Laila’s name several times now. It looks like the godfather truly can’t let go of the young woman who died.

“Maybe he fell in love with her during those three years and simply refused to admit it.”

Every comment reached Lucia.

The humiliation made it impossible for her to raise her head.

Deep jealousy had always lived inside her.

Even when Vito insisted he had never loved me, Lucia had remained threatened by the three years we spent together.

When the news announced my death, part of her had celebrated because no one could compete with her

anymore.

Another part had panicked.

She could clearly see that Vito’s entire heart was consumed by the pain of losing me.

The house manager hurried to calm the guests and arrange food and drinks.

Lucia sat alone on the central sofa, praying desperately that the news report was true and that no one aboard Flight AZ612 had survived.
