He Locked Me in an Oven for Her, So I Called My Brother to Bury Them Both Chapter 06

Khloe collapsed to her knees at once, two gaping bullet wounds bleeding on her legs.

Everyone around held back screams, trembling in sheer terror.

I hadn’t seen Wyatt this furious in years.

Most of the time, he hid his emotions perfectly, never letting them show.

I knew that in this moment, he truly ached for me, his good-for-nothing little sister.

Asher trembled even harder on the floor at the sight of Wyatt’s ruthless shots.

He forced himself to calm down and dropped to his knees with a thud.

“Wyatt, let me explain! It’s not what it looks like. Callie’s just too spoiled. Khloe was kind enough to make her a prenatal plan, and she nearly killed Khloe. She wouldn’t repent, so I had to teach her a lesson. I never meant to torture her…”

Wyatt punched him square in the jaw, his eyes bloodshot with rage.

“Even if every last one of us Griffins were dead and gone,” he snarled, “it still wouldn’t be your place to discipline her. Who the hell do you think you are?”

Wyatt watched as the white stretcher turned bright red with my blood, his knuckles white with anger.

He snarled, “Every bit of pain Callie suffered today, I will make every single one of you pay back a thousandfold.”

Then he rushed to me immediately, “Callie…”

He reached for my hand, but my skin was raw, blistered, and bleeding badly.

His hand froze midair. After a long moment, tears suddenly fell onto my hand without warning.

I forced a weak, reassuring smile, trying to tell him I was okay.

But I blacked out before I could speak.

When I woke up, monitors beeped softly beside me. My body was wrapped in thick white bandages.

Every small movement sent searing pain through me.

“Callie, don’t move.” Wyatt touched my forehead gently, his voice thick with unshed tears. “You’re finally awake. I got there just in time. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I lost you…”

I stared at his haggard face, forced myself up through the pain, and threw my arms around him, sobbing. “Wyatt, I hate him. I hate him so much…”

I cried for a long time, then trembled as I looked at my flat belly.

My baby, the one I’d waited for day and night… I still couldn’t keep him in the end.

Wyatt held my hand tightly, his voice broken. “Callie, by the time we got you to the hospital… the baby’s heart had already stopped.”

I closed my eyes and wiped away my tears firmly. “Wyatt, I want a divorce from Asher.”

Asher killed my baby. I would never forgive him in this life or the next.

Wyatt nodded. “It’s already being processed.” He paused. “He’s asking to see you one last time.”

I nodded calmly. “Let him.”

This five-year bond had run its course. Now it needed a proper ending.

Moments later, Asher stumbled in, looking completely broken.

The second he saw me, he dropped to his knees beside the bed and reached shakily for my hand.

I pulled away sharply.

Wyatt gave Asher a cold, warning look, then turned and left. “Callie, I’ll be right outside the door.”

Asher let out a small breath when the door closed.

His eyes swept over my bandaged body, red and glistening as he began to apologize.

“Callie, I’m sorry… I really didn’t think it would come to this. The doctor said this pregnancy was stable. I never imagined I would end up hurting our child, or that you would be so badly injured…”

“I’m sorry, I really know I was wrong. I’ll never hurt you for anyone else again. You’re right, Khloe’s just a nanny’s daughter. I’ll send her away as soon as we get back. Just give me one more chance, please.”

Watching Asher gaze at me with all that remorse, I couldn’t help but feel how utterly absurd it all was.
