After the medical teams drew blood from both Tara and Dad, Tara’s eyes locked onto me.

“Doesn’t Iris need to be tested, too? Her report literally says she isn’t his child.”

“Does that even matter? Who cares if she isn’t?” Mom spoke up, her voice dripping with absolute authority.

“The only thing I care about is that Iris is my daughter. That’s more than enough. Don’t you get it yet? I’m the one who runs the Morrison family. As long as my child came out of my womb, it doesn’t matter who her father is.”

Tara choked on her words, turning a desperate gaze toward Dad instead.

“Dad, look at her, she’s going too far. She doesn’t respect you at all. How can you just stand there and take it?”

“Stay away from me. I’m not your dad,” Dad barked back, quickly taking a step away from her.

“In my heart, Iris is my only daughter. How my wife treats me is our business. You’re an outsider, don’t try to drive a wedge between us.”

Tara looked ready to explode from Dad’s attitude, but she didn’t dare throw a tantrum.

No matter how stupid she was, she knew exactly whose territory she was standing in, and she lacked the courage to push any further.

After a tense, nail-biting wait, the results finally came in.

The verdict from all ten independent medical teams was completely identical.

Tara really was Dad’s biological daughter.

There was no way anyone could have bribed all ten teams at once, and no one had more money to throw around than Mom, meaning the results were completely indisputable.

The moment the truth was delivered, Dad panicked instantly. “How is this even possible? Since the day I met your mother, I haven’t even looked at another woman. Where the hell did a daughter come from?”

Mom’s expression turned to ice as she reviewed the paperwork. “Victor, if you haven’t been with anyone else, then how do you explain having a daughter? You know I have zero tolerance for cheating.”

Panic completely took over Dad as he whirled around to interrogate Tara. “Where did you come from? Are you some kind of scientific clone or something?”

“No, I’m not!” Now that her biological ties to Dad were officially confirmed, Tara’s confidence returned. “I have your token right here. If I weren’t your daughter, why would I have your watch?”

She pulled out the pocket watch she had bragged about earlier. “Look! This is proof!”

Dad froze the second he saw the watch. Snapping out of his daze, he lunged forward, snatched it from Tara’s hands, and looked at her suspiciously. “When were you born?”

Tara blurted it out without a second thought, “October first.”

“I mean which year!”

“2008.”

The moment the year left her mouth, a look of pure realization washed over Dad’s face. He spun around to look at Mom.

“Honey, look! She was born in 2008. We had barely just met back then. This watch belonged to my ex-girlfriend. She must have secretly had the baby without ever telling me. I swear I had absolutely no idea.”

Hearing the year, Mom’s icy expression finally softened a fraction. “So it wasn’t infidelity during our marriage. Since you were kept in the dark, let’s track down your ex-girlfriend and find out exactly what happened.”

Without wasting another second, Mom ordered her staff to find Dad’s ex.
