Dad’s Secret Daughter Called Herself Heiress, But Mom’s Family Owned Everything Chapter 01

Dad’s Secret Daughter Called Herself Heiress, But Mom’s Family Owned Everything Chapter 01

Right after my parents left for their overseas trip, an uninvited guest showed up at our door.

“You’re Iris, right? Your good days are over. I’m the Morrisons’ real daughter, the actual heiress. Now, pack up your crap and get the hell out.”

The girl threw a paternity test report right into my face. “Look for yourself. This is proof that I’m the real daughter!”

I picked up the document and scanned it, my brow furrowing. My mother had never given birth to a second child. Was I actually a fake daughter?

Right then, my childhood friend rushed into the house, clutching another set of DNA results.

“Iris’s test results are out. She really isn’t Mr. Morrison’s daughter. But Mrs. Morrison is definitely her biological mother. It looks like Mrs. Morrison had an affair!”

Hearing his words, I actually breathed a sigh of relief.

Whether I was my father’s daughter didn’t matter at all.

Every single dime in this family was earned by my mother. Only her daughter counted as the true heiress.

As for my father, he was just a live-in husband.

After high school graduation, other kids went off on vacation to unwind.

In my family, it was the other way around. My parents went on a trip to enjoy themselves, leaving me behind to mind the place.

They had barely left when the doorbell rang.

Assuming they forgot something, I opened the door immediately, only to find a strange girl standing on the porch.

She looked to be my age and was dressed plainly, but her eyes constantly scanned the house, revealing a greed that completely clashed with her modest appearance.

“Can I help you?” I asked.

The girl looked me up and down, and her very first sentence stunned me.

“You’re Iris, right? I’m Tara. I’m Morrisons’ real flesh and blood, the actual heiress of this family.”

With that, she shoved past me and barged inside, muttering to herself, “So this is my home. Fancy. Fits a billionaire’s taste, I guess.”

Finally snapping out of my shock, I quickly hurried after her. “Hey, what exactly do you mean by that?”

Tara spun around and slammed a document into my hands. “It means I’m the real daughter. We were switched at birth. You’ve read those fake heiress stories, right? You’re the fake one, and I’m the real deal.”

I looked down at the paper. It was a paternity test, and it clearly stated that Tara was Dad’s biological daughter.

“You’ve lived my life for so many years, and now it’s time to give it back. Pack up your things and get out of my house. When Mom and Dad get back, I’ll explain everything to them.”

Tara had already fully assumed the role of the owner of the house, starting to kick me out.

But doubts filled my mind.

Mom always told me that when she gave birth, she hired ten nannies to watch me twenty-four hours a day without leaving my side. Because she was a billionaire, and she feared someone might try to swap me out.

So there was no way I could have been switched.

And Mom never had a second child, so where did this Tara come from?

Yet, the paternity test in my hand looked genuine, stamped with an official notary seal. For a moment, I even began to doubt myself.

Seeing me stand still, Tara crossed her arms, looking at me as if she had me completely figured out. “You’re stalling, aren’t you? Waiting for my parents to come back so you can play the victim and fight me for the room and their affection?”

“You’re overthinking this.” I rolled my eyes. “Don’t you think it’s a bit rash to kick me out based on one paternity test? This needs to wait until Dad and Mom get home. You don’t get to call all the shots.”
