Dad’s Secret Daughter Called Herself Heiress, But Mom’s Family Owned Everything Chapter 02

Dad’s Secret Daughter Called Herself Heiress, But Mom’s Family Owned Everything Chapter 02

Tara completely ignored logic and immediately started twisting my words.

“See? I knew it. You’re just waiting for Mom and Dad to get back. But let me tell you, they’ll choose me in a heartbeat!”

“I’m a scholarship winner at my school, and my grades are way better than yours. Plus, I already chose Management as my major. Once they compare us, they’ll know who to choose. You’re bound to be thrown out.”

She was a school scholarship winner? So what? I was a state scholarship winner.

Trying to compete with me on academics was like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

But I wasn’t going to flaunt it like she did; Mom had taught me to keep a low profile from a young age.

I replied indifferently, “I have no intention of competing with you. My parents just left, I’ll text them to come back right now. The truth will be clear soon enough.”

I turned around, pulled out my phone, and texted my mother.

Iris: [Mom, some girl showed up claiming to be your daughter. She even brought a paternity test. Did you have a second kid behind my back? You need to come back and check this out.]

Mom replied instantly.

Mom: [Of course not! You’re my only child! Hang tight, your dad and I are turning right around.]

Seeing me text my parents didn’t faze Tara at all. She calmly sat down on the sofa.

“Fine by me. Once they get back, your luxury ride is over. I have the DNA results, so the fact that I’m Dad’s biological daughter is set in stone.”

“What do you think they’ll give me as compensation? An unlimited black card? A mansion? Or maybe shares in the company?”

Her eyes then suddenly locked onto me.

“Oh, right. You’re engaged to Everett Hale, aren’t you? Since you’re the fake heiress, that engagement belongs to me now.”

Hearing her mention Everett caught me off guard. “How do you know him?”

“I don’t just know him.” Tara’s expression turned smug and suggestive. “He’s my boyfriend.”

“Boyfriend?” My brow furrowed, and my composure wavered.

Everett and I grew up together as childhood sweethearts, shared mutual feelings, and had an official engagement. How could he suddenly be someone else’s boyfriend?

“Yeah, boyfriend,” Tara bragged.

“If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have been able to get Dad’s hair for the paternity test. I know you two grew up together and you like him, but I’m the real Morrison heiress. He’s my fiancé, so you’d better drop those feelings.”

Tara’s story actually held weight.

Security at our estate was incredibly tight, making it impossible for an outsider to break in, let alone steal a hair sample from Dad.

“How did you two even meet?” For the first time, I looked Tara squarely in the eyes.

She looked thrilled by my reaction, her gaze dripping with mockery.

“We met at school. Everett came to give a speech during my freshman year, and we exchanged contact info.”

“He visited me often after that and accidentally noticed one of Dad’s old belongings on me. That’s when he started suspecting I was the real Morrison daughter.”

Tara pulled a pocket watch from her jacket.

“This belonged to Dad. But it doesn’t matter now, since I have the paternity test.”

“Once we confirmed I was Dad’s daughter, Everett and I made it official. We’re engaged anyway, so it’s only right for us to be together.”

Before I could question her further, the front door clicked open.

Everett had arrived.
