The Ring Was Not For Me Chapter 08

As soon as he finished, Mrs. Miller’s legs gave out, and she collapsed to the floor, letting out a wail. “My sweet grandson! How could this be! What did our family do to deserve this!”

Sarah’s face was deathly pale. She slumped to the floor, unable to utter another word of defense.

Ricardo stared at the report, motionless for a long moment. Suddenly, he coughed, a spray of blood splattering across the paper.

Then he scrambled up and lunged for Sarah, his hands tight around her neck. “Whose child is he!”

Only then did Sarah tell the truth.

The child belonged to one of Ricardo’s cousins. She had been drunk and mistaken the cousin for Ricardo. Later, when she found out she was

pregnant,

she had set Ricardo up.

The child was born looking like Ricardo, so he had never suspected a thing.

Ricardo stumbled back a few steps, pushed Sarah away, and then fell to his

knees before me.

“Tiffany, I was wrong.”

I looked at him, a wave of nausea rising in my chest.

“Tiffany, I was wrong. Sarah played me. Please, can we start over? I’ll divorce Sarah and marry you right away. The internship is still yours. We’ll build a good life together.”

Seeing Ricardo on his knees, Mrs. Miller immediately started cursing.

“Ricardo, what are you talking about?! Even if you divorce Sarah, you can’t marry that useless cripple!”

Ricardo shoved his mother away. “Mom, shut up!”

“I did all of this just to prove to everyone that I’m not inferior to Tiffany!”

“I still love her!”

Mrs. Miller nearly fainted and took her anger out on me.

“Tiffany! You bitch! You ruined your own hands, and now you’re blaming our Ricardo!”

Just as she finished, Julian’s voice cut through, ice-cold. “What are you waiting for? Shut her up.”

The bodyguards behind Julian immediately stepped forward and slapped her face more than a dozen times.

Mrs. Miller’s face instantly swelled up like a pig’s head, and she could only whimper, unable to curse anymore.

Ricardo tried to step in but was grabbed by Julian’s bodyguards and pinned against the wall.

“Mr. Blackwood, this is between me and Tiffany. You have no right to

interfere!”

Julian let out a cold laugh.

“She’s my fiancée. That gives me every right.”

Ricardo’s face turned white. “What did you say?”
