He Took Me For Weak And Helpless Chapter 10

He Took Me For Weak And Helpless Chapter 10

His phone vibrated in his palm, and the encrypted file his assistant had sent opened on the screen.

Adrian lowered his eyes, and the instant he saw what was inside, his already tense features turned deathly cold.

On the first page was a carefully forged pregnancy report from Lola. The hospital seal was blurred, and the dates and numbers didn’t even line up.

Next came a full audio recording of her privately contacting a doctor at a private hospital and bribing him

with a huge sum to alter the records. Her voice was deliberately soft and fragile, but every word was

calculation.

Adrian kept scrolling, forcing himself to stay calm, until one message thread after another filled the screen.

Lola had been paying online trolls for a long time, spreading rumors about Summer behind the scenes,

painting her as immoral and manipulative.

Even those intimate-looking photos of Summer had been fabricated and circulated by Lola herself.

And the most glaring piece of all was the paternity report at the very end, stamped by an accredited testing

center.

In the conclusion box, it read:

Excluded as the biological father.

Adrian’s fist clenched tight as fury surged through him.

He had always believed Lola was harmless and weak. He had believed the child she was carrying was his.

Because of that, he had spoken coldly to Summer again and again, and even when she was at her most

desperate, he had chosen to believe someone else’s lies over her.

With his own hands, he had driven the person he cared about most into a corner with no way out.

And now the truth had come far too late, and far too cruelly.

The veins in Adrian’s hand stood out. The wound on the back of his hand, not yet healed, split open again

under the strain, and fresh blood welled up.

He kept reading as one ugly piece of evidence after another appeared.

More than once, Lola had schemed behind the scenes to frame Summer. She had hidden her medication on

purpose, deleted important messages meant for her, twisted facts in front of Adrian, and pushed every bit of

blame onto Summer’s shoulders.

She had taken his possessiveness and obsession and used them against him, eroding his trust in Summer

piece by piece until she had shoved Summer all the way to the brink of collapse.

And he had let himself be fooled the entire time.

Adrian closed his eyes, and Summer’s empty, lifeless stare played in his mind again and again.

Only now did he finally understand that when his grandfather said they were destroying each other, Summer

had never been the one at fault. And when the old man said he was giving her a way out, he truly had meant

he couldn’t bear to watch her be crushed by lies any longer.

Adrian was the real culprit in all of it.

When he opened his eyes again, a storm was raging in them. His cold gaze shot straight toward Lola, who

was still standing a short distance away with her head lowered.

A wave of dread crashed over her. Fighting to look calm, she twisted the fabric at her side and spoke timidly.

“Adrian, your hand is still bleeding. Do you want me to-”

“Get out.”

Lola’s face turned white. Her fingertips froze in midair, and she started trembling uncontrollably.

“Adrian… W-What did I do wrong? Please don’t do this…”

“What did you do wrong?” Adrian let out a low laugh. “Lola, after pretending for this long, aren’t you tired?”

He walked toward her one slow step at a time, and the sheer force of his presence drove her backward until

her back hit the wall and there was nowhere left to go.

Adrian flung the phone down in front of her, the evidence on the screen leaving her nowhere to hide.

“The baby isn’t mine,” he said, his voice low and rough. “You were lying to me from the very beginning. You

trapped me with a fake pregnancy, plotted against Summer behind my back, drove her away, and broke her

down.”

“You used my obsession, and you used the fact that I cared, to play me for a fool.”

Lola shook her head frantically, tears spilling down at once.

“No, Adrian! Listen to me! Someone set me up! I really do love you. How could I ever lie to you-”

“So this is what you call love?” Adrian cut in with icy disgust. “A mouth full of lies? Stabbing me in the back?

Standing there and watching while I drove her into despair? Lola, you make me sick.”
